Overall Opinion:

Overall, I like Tanwise Self Tanning Water Foam, but it has a few drawbacks.  I ended up giving it 3 out of 5 stars.

I love the color it produces.  It gives a nice, medium shade that’s brown, not orange.  I looked sunkissed!  But unfortunately, the tan was streaky.  It looked really splotchy in the areas around my wrists, ankles, and thighs.

It smells delicious… very clean and a little bit sweet.

It’s clean to apply, but you have to be extra careful because it’s very easy to miss spots because there’s no color guide.

The price is great, but you use a lot of product when applying this one so I think a bottle will only last for 3 applications.

I also wish my tan lasted a little longer; it only lasted about 3-4 days before I felt pale again.

So overall, this tanner is a little better than your average self tanner!

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

Tanwise Self Tanning Water Foam looks exactly like water in the bottle.  It has no color guide, and has a very thin, liquid texture.

Once you pump the product out, it turns into a white, bubbly foam.

Application

One thing I like about this foam is how clean it is to apply.  It didn’t get on anything like a lot of tanners with dark color guides do.  So you don’t need to worry about it staining anything, which is great.

I’d recommend using a tanning mitt to apply this one because although it comes out clear, it can still stain your palms.

Even though this self tanner is cleaner to apply than most, I found it kind of difficult to apply because you can’t see where you’re applying it.  I had to use so much more product than I normally do to ensure I covered every area completely.

Drying Time

Tanwise Water Foam dries in about 30 minutes.  My skin felt tacky until it dried completely.  Even though it takes 30 minutes to dry, I was able to put my clothing on after about 15 minutes because I wasn’t worried about the product staining.

Smell (Before Application)

This self tanning mousse smells really good.  It has a clean, refreshing scent.  It has a hint of a sweet, girly smell too.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

The next morning, after my tan had developed, it still didn’t smell of DHA, which is great!  I could smell a little bit of sweetness too; this one does great in the fragrance department.

Color Produced

The directions on this self tanner say to leave it on 4-6 hours before showering.  I ended up leaving mine on overnight, so about 9 hours.

In the morning, I had a really nice medium shade tan.  I was obsessed with the color of my tan, but unfortunately my tan was streaky.  I think the lack of guide led to the streaking, which is unfortunate because I was very careful when applying!  My wrist areas looked especially bad and splotchy.

I wish this tanner wasn’t as streaky on my skin because I actually love the color!  It’s a nice brown color, not orange at all.  I looked sunkissed.

I’m including a photo of one of my wrists; just so you guys can see the spottiness I’m talking about.

How Long It Lasts

Tanwise Self Tanning Water Foam doesn’t have the best staying power.  It only lasted 3-4 days before I felt like I needed to apply it again.

You’ll need to apply this one twice a week to maintain a medium shade tan.

OK For Men?

Yes, the color is great.  But you need to be extremely careful while applying or your tan will be streaky.

Price

A 7 ounce bottle of this tanning water sells for $15.00, that’s a pretty cheap price point.  But you’ll only get about 3 full body applications with one bottle.  Still, not a bad deal.
