Overall Opinion:

Tanceuticals CC Self Tanning Body Lotion in Dark is our favorite self tanner right now and currently ranks #1 in our ranking of the best self tanners.

So why do we like it so much?

First and foremost, the tan it gave us was truly gorgeous– a smooth and natural, darker shade of bronze.

Second, it’s easy to apply, dries quickly and feels great on the skin.

Third, we love that this self tanner has cosmeceuticals in it (instead of just a bunch of chemicals).

Next up, it lasts nearly 7 days, which is longer than just about any self tanner we’ve ever tried.

Last but not least, Tanceuticals smells absolutely wonderful!  We love the smell of coconut and that’s exactly what this smells like :)

Now, we had a hard time finding anything we didn’t like about Tanceutcials.

But if we had to nitpick, we’d say it’s important to keep this off your hands (use a tanning mitt or gloves).

Because this is more of a “professional-grade” product, it could stain your palms if you’re not careful.

But overall, we gave Tanceuticals 5 out of 5 stars and think it’s the best self tanner on the market right now!

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

Tanceuticals comes out of the tube as a tan-colored lotion.  It feels very smooth and light.

Application

We found applying this product extremely easy, as it absorbs quickly and isn’t messy.

It just seems to glide over the skin and blend in really easily.

It does have a very slight tint to it, but not enough that it got on our clothes.

Another thing we liked, it doesn’t take a whole lot of product to cover your body.

I feel like I used less than an ounce, which means the 4.2 oz tube should last 4-5 weeks.

Drying Time

Tanceuticals dries about as quickly as any lotion we’ve seen!

After a few minutes, it felt like it had completely dried.

And once it did, it didn’t feel sticky at all.  In fact, my skin felt smooth and moisturized :)

Because the tint is so light and it dries quickly, we didn’t see any of it rubbing off on our clothes or sheets.

Smell (Before Application)

I’m just going to come right out and say it– Tanceuticals is THE best smelling self tanner we’ve ever tested!

It smells like coconut, which is my all-time favorite scent.

With most self tanners, the smell is something you just kind of put up with.

Not so with Tanceuticals.  This one actually smells delicious.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

As time went on, the coconut scent stayed pretty much in place.

In fact, I could still smell a trace of it the next day right before I showered.

Like most self tanners, once you shower the scent disappears.

I never smelled any of that DHA smell throughout the entire test period (which is good!)

Color Produced

The color I got from Tanceuticals was absolutely gorgeous!

It was deep, smooth, and very natural-looking… the perfect shade of bronze in my opinion.

I knew the color was a hit when people stopped to ask me how I got so tan :)

I also noticed my skin felt really smooth and supple (maybe that’s the cosmeceuticals in there!).

For what it’s worth, I also didn’t see any streaks or splotchiness.

How Long It Lasts

Tanceuticals CC Self Tanning Body Lotion lasted about 7 days, which is a really long time for a self tanner.

It faded pretty well over the first 4-5 days but got a tad splotchy towards days 6 and 7 (although that’s pretty normal for a good self tanner that lasts more than just a few days).

OK For Men?

Even though this self tanner looks like it’s for women (because the packaging is pink and white), I think men will love this product.

The reason I say that– it smells good, dries quickly and doesn’t need to be applied often.

Guys could apply this just once a week and have a really good-looking tan!

The 4.2 oz. tube costs $29.95, which falls about in the middle range of self tanners.

However, because this one works so well, and lasts so long, we think that price is actually a pretty good deal.
