Overall Opinion:

As you guys know, I love Tanceuticals Original Dark Lotion, so I couldn’t wait to get my hands on their Ultra Dark Shade.  It didn’t disappoint; I absolutely love it, and so I gave it 5 out of 5 stars.

It’s exactly like their Dark shade, just darker.

From the ingredients, to the smell, this self tanner has it all.

For starters, the color is so dark and so natural looking. I love being dark, so for me, this one is perfect.  I actually wear this one in a lot of my Youtube videos and also before date night and important events.  The color is very dark, so for those of you who are extremely pale or are new to tanning, you may want to start with their normal dark shade first.

Applying self tanners doesn’t get any easier than this one.  Just put a little on your mitt and apply like you would your normal body moisturizer.  The thin texture makes it so easy to blend in; it literally just glides over my skin.

Tanceuticals Ultra Dark smells really good.  It smells like tropical coconuts, which is my favorite scent.  It also does a really great job covering up the DHA smell.  I could only smell a little DHA the next morning after my tan developed.

I really like this company as they offer a 30-day money back guarantee (although I’ve never had to use it as I love all their products). There’s nothing better than a company that stands behind their products!

Overall, I think this is one of the best self tanners out there, and I highly recommend it.

Look and Feel

Tanceuticals Body Lotion Ultra Dark is a pretty thin lotion that has a really light tan color.

The lotion itself is super soft and silky; it’s a dream to apply.  The color doesn’t act as a guide on your skin, so you don’t need to worry about a mess.

Application

This lotion is so easy to apply; my skin literally drinks it up.

Now, if you’re new to self tanning, I wouldn’t start with this shade.  There’s less room for error with this Ultra Dark shade than their regular Dark shade.  So if you’re just getting started in the self tanning world, I’d try the Tanceuticals Dark shade first.

But, for all of your experienced self tanners out there who love a deep tan, you’ll love this one.

I always use a tanning mitt to apply it, and I’ve found a little bit goes a long way.  I just blend all over my body like I do my normal body lotion.

The thin texture of the lotion makes it SO easy to apply; I hardly had to blend it in at all, which is so nice.  I also like that I don’t need to worry about a dark, messy guide staining anything as I apply it.

Drying Time

My skin felt completely dry after 20 minutes, which I was really happy with.

I didn’t have any stickiness or gross feeling while I waited for it to dry either.  I think the thin texture really helped it dry quicker than most.

Smell (Before Application)

If any of you have tried Tanceuticals products before, you’ll know how amazing their products smell.  This Ultra Dark shade is no exception, it smells divine!

It has their original coconut scent, which smells tropical and delicious!

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

After it processed, I could smell a little bit of DHA smell.  But after I showered, it was completely gone, and I couldn’t smell any DHA at all.

The DHA smell definitely isn’t as strong as most self tanners.

Color Produced

After leaving the product on my skin for 8 hours, I was so impressed with my tan.

As most of you know, Tanceuticals Dark Lotion is my favorite self tanner out there because the color is amazing.  Well, the Ultra Dark color is just as good, just darker!

It gives me a deep, dark tan that’s very natural looking.  My tan gets about 5-6 shades darker, and it also has the appearance of a spray tan.  Which is a look that I love.  You really can’t beat this color, if you’re looking for a really dark tan.

Tanceuticals CC Self Tanning Body Lotion Ultra Dark gives me a tan that’s very even and has no streaks at all.  But with all self tanners, if you apply hastily, it can streak.  So make sure to cover all areas completely.

I literally have a few people a day ask me about my tan when I wear this one.

How Long It Lasts

My tan lasts about 6 days when I wear this one.

I also notice that when I use this self tanner, my skin feels SO soft and hydrated.  I think the hydrating components of this self tanner help it last so long.

Now, at about day 5-6 I can notice a few patchy areas.  Like I’ve mentioned many times before, the darker the tan, the patchier it can be as it fades.  So I usually exfoliate again around day 6 before I apply this one again.

Yes, I’ve turned many men on to this self tanner and they love it!
