Overall Opinion:

Overall, I gave Tanamins Vitamins 1 out of 5 stars.  Needless to say, I don’t like them and think they’re a waste of money.

These are basically just normal vitamins that claim to help you get tan.  Their directions say to take a few pills a day and then lay out 3 times per week (at a minimum).  To me, that just sounds like an invitation to advance skin damage.

These “vitamins” really don’t help you tan at all, no more so than if you were to lay out in the sun without them.

I’m really against these pills because I try to avoid being in the sun as much as possible, and that’s the whole point of using self tanners.

So overall, I wouldn’t recommend these to anyone.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

These are light green colored tablets.

They look exactly like multivitamins to me.

The bottle says to take 2-4 tablets daily with meals for the first 7 days.  After that you can cut the dose down to 2 pills per day, one in the morning and one at night.

Application

You don’t apply this one to your skin; they are pills that are taken orally.

Drying Time

There’s no drying time with these pills.

Smell (Before Application)

These smell a little odd, kind of like chemicals or plastic.

What they really smell like is the inside of a Home Depot shop if anyone of you have been!  Not exactly a scent I want to put into my body.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

N/A

Color Produced

So basically, these pills encourage you to lay out in the sun in order to achieve a tan.

That’s exactly what I don’t want to do and what I try to avoid by using self tanners.

The directions say to tan in the sun for a minimum of 20 minutes, 3 times per week.  UHHHH hello skin damage (or worse)?!

To me, these pills are such a joke, and a huge waste of money.

They really don’t work for giving you a tan, they’re just vitamins after all.

And I hate that they encourage you to lay out in the sun.  I try to avoid that at all costs, and that’s why I use self tanners.

How Long It Lasts

Well, since you’re lying out in the sun, your tan will last as long as your natural tan usually does.  That’s assuming you don’t get burnt from laying out so often!

OK For Men?

No.  I really don’t think these pills are a good idea for anyone!

Price

Tanamins sells for $21.95 per bottle.  So basically you’re paying 22 bucks for vitamins, and the skin damage that comes with laying in the sun too much.
