Top 10 Ingredients: Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Dihydroxyacetone, Hydrolyzed Soybean Fiber, Hyaluronic Acid, Beta Vulgaris (Beet) Root Extract, Brassica Oleracea Acephala (Kale) Leaf Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Seed Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil
Overall Opinion:
Having little experience with tanning body serums, I am wholly impressed with Tan-Luxe Super Glow Body Serum.
I normally start with the positives of a product, but since this product really only has one downfall, I’ll start there. The lack of color guard and consistency of the serum itself leads to a bit of a streaky tan.
You can definitely correct it as the tan gets darker by applying it on the missed areas, but overall, this produced a streakier tan than other tanning products I’ve used.
Other than that, Tan-Luxe Super Glow Body Serum is a total winner. It smells good, has a rapid dry time, and produces a medium-dark, natural-looking tan.
The price tag may be slightly higher than others on the market, but this self-tanning body serum is well worth the money!
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
If you use a serum on your face, then you know exactly what to expect from Tan-Luxe Super Glow Body Serum. It has the same exactly feeling.
Once the product has dried down, it doesn’t leave behind any residue at all. I didn’t mind this, but since you don’t rinse the product off, my body was left feeling a little dry since I applied it on clean skin.
Tan-Luxe Super Glow Body Serum also doesn’t have a color guard, so it’s a clear serum you’re working with when applying.
Application
While I normally always use a tanning mitt to applying self-tanning products, I opted not to for Tan-Luxe Super Glow Body Serum. This would definitely be the route I recommend for applying given the consistency of the serum. And it didn’t stain my hands at all.
Overall, the application was really simple. The formula allowed for smooth application, and I felt I had covered most areas of my body adequately by using 4-5 pumps per area.
However, as I’ll explain later, my tan was pretty streaky so you may want to use more product than that if you choose to try this product.
The lack of color guard and residue left behind made this a little tricky to ensure I had covered every area, but at the time of application, it seemed really simple.
Drying Time
The dry time is almost instant. It definitely dried quicker than my body lotion normally does.
I’d say 1-2 minutes, but it may be even faster than that. I loved this aspect of the self-tanner, and since it doesn’t have a color guard either, I was able to dress and go about my day with little interference and down time.
Smell (Before Application)
Tan-Luxe Super Glow Body Serum has a minor floral scent to it before/during application. I personally liked it! It was light and refreshing.
I also noticed that I didn’t smell any hints of self-tanner in the formula, which is very impressive in my book! I normally always smell a small amount, but that wasn’t the case here.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
Once Tan-Luxe Super Glow Body Serum dried, I didn’t smell anything at all.
I personally liked the scent when I applied it, but it does go away almost instantly.
Color Produced
After the first application, I saw a slight change to my skin color. It was a little bit darker, but nothing impressive in the least.
I used it the second day, and wow! I can’t believe how much darker my tan got. The color was very natural looking without any orange undertones. I would say it created a medium-dark color, but I think if I applied it a third day in a row, it would be closer to dark/very dark.
Unfortunately, since there’s no color guard in this body serum, I found my tan to be really streaky. I noticed some streaking after the first day so I worked to cover those areas I had missed originally, but overall, this resulted in a streakier tan than products with a color guard tend to.
Despite the streaking, however, I’m so happy with this product. It’s seriously impressive!
How Long It Lasts
The tan I achieved after the second use lasted for 2-3 days.
However, you can continue to apply this daily, and since it’s so easy to do so, I can see a lot of women doing that to continue building the color.
OK For Men?
Definitely! The scent is a bit floral when first applied, but like I said above, it’s very minor and goes away once the serum has absorbed.
Price
Tan-Luxe Super Glow Body Serum is a more expensive self-tanning product, but I can say without a doubt that it’s worth the money.
This is one of the easier tanning products to use, and it develops a gorgeous tan after just two uses. I especially think this is worth it for someone who is starting to get into self-tanning and not totally confident on how to do it at first.
