Overall Opinion:
I’m pretty impressed with Tampa Bay Sunless Tanning Mousse. I give it 4 out of 5 stars after trying it out.
It gives a really pretty looking tan. My tan was a medium to dark shade and looked bronze and sun kissed, not fake and orange like some self tanners. I think most of you will be happy with the color this one produces.
It also smells good, like apples. Can’t beat a fruity smelling self tanner!
Application is okay, just make sure to use a tanning mitt. If you don’t, you may encounter some troubles with the dark color guide.
One thing I don’t like about this self tanner is that it stained my sheets and towels L
But overall, I think this is a high quality self tanning mousse.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
This self tanner is a mousse with a light, bubbly texture.
It’s not one of those watery, runny mousses, which is good.
It has a brown color guide in it, which you can definitely see as you apply to your skin. So if you’re not a fan of color guides, you won’t like this one. The color guide has a pinkish hue to it as it touches your skin.
Application
If you use a tanning mitt, application is pretty easy. If you don’t, well don’t say I didn’t warn ya.
Due to the dark color guide, I think using something to protect your hands is a must.
I used a mitt and I found the product was easy to apply; it blended very nicely into my skin.
It didn’t require a ton of elbow grease and blending like a lot of mousses do.
Just be careful when applying this one. If you get it on anything, it can stain it.
After I was through applying it, my skin looked pretty dark due to the guide. But it wasn’t like some self tanners where I literally looked muddy and gross, I just looked very bronzed.
Drying Time
As far as drying time goes, this one is pretty average.
It didn’t take too long, around 20 minutes. You just want to be sure that the product is completely dry before going to bed so it doesn’t stain your sheets.
As it dried I felt a little sticky, but that feeling quickly went away.
Smell (Before Application)
Tampa Bay Sunless Tanning Mousse smells really good during application. It has a light, fruity scent. It says the smell is a “Fresh Apple Orchard” scent. I love products that smell like apples.
Anyways, it smells sweet and does a good job of covering up the DHA scent.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
The next morning I could smell a little bit of DHA, but only if I really tried. It didn’t bother me at all.
Color Produced
When I showered the next morning, I noticed how much color came off in the process. I thought I’d be left with no tan. But thankfully, that was all just the dark guide running off.
I was left with a medium to dark shade tan that actually looked really nice.
I love the shade of tan it was… it’s bronze, not orange or fake looking.
It was even, and it looked surprisingly real. So overall, I’m very happy with the color it produces.
If you don’t like to be very dark, you may not like it though. If you’re super pale to begin with, the color may be too dark for you.
How Long It Lasts
When I use this self tanner, my tan lasts about 5 days. I’m happy with that, but I don’t really like how it fades.
It left me looking splotchy and a little dry as it rubbed off.
OK For Men?
Yes, I think the color Tampa Bay Sunless Tanning Mousse produces is of great quality and men will like it.
Price
It’s $2.49 per ounce, which isn’t a bad price for this self tanner.
