Overall Opinion:

I gave BioFusion Self Tanner 2.25 out of 5 stars.  So it fell just short of average.

There’s nothing I absolutely love about this self tanner.

My tan turned out okay, it was lighter than I would’ve liked to see, and it also had a yellow hue to it.  I also had a few small streaks.

The drying time was longer than average, and I felt sticky while it dried.

The smell isn’t very good either.

The price is really great though; it’s so cheap compared to most self tanners.

The good news is applying it isn’t very hard.

So overall, this wasn’t the best self tanner out there, but it also wasn’t the worst.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

BioFusion Self Tanning Lotion is a thick, creamy lotion with a caramel color.  The guide isn’t as dark as some; it’s more of a tan color than a dark brown.

This is definitely one of the thicker self tanners out there, but it also feels very slick to the touch.

I have to say, the color of this color gives it a not so appealing appearance.

Application

Although it doesn’t have a dark guide, I still used a tanning mitt while applying it.

If you use a mitt, it’s pretty easy to apply.  It’s slick, so it just kind of glides over your skin.  But the thick texture takes a few minutes to fully blend in.

Once I was done applying it, my skin had an orange hue to it, but I didn’t look brown or tan yet.

Drying Time

Due to the thick texture of this self tanner, it took a little while to dry.  In my experience, it took about 35-40 minutes to completely dry.

While I was waiting for it to dry, I noticed my skin felt quite sticky, which I didn’t like.   It was uncomfortable to wait with sticky lotion on my skin for 40 minutes.

Smell (Before Application)

I don’t care for the smell of BioFusion Self Tanning Lotion.

It smells like some kind of cleaner to me.  It has a citrus scent mixed with self tanner smell.  It doesn’t smell fresh or light, which I look for in my self tanners.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

After a few hours, the smell became worse.  The more my tan developed, the more I smelled DHA.  So by the next morning, I reeked and couldn’t wait to get the smell off me.

Color Produced

So, as far as color goes, this one produced an average looking tan.  It didn’t look great, but it wasn’t the worst looking tan either.

I had a light to medium tan, and it had a little bit of a yellow hue to it.  It’s definitely more of a natural looking tan, than a noticeable one.

I had a few streaks all over my body too; thankfully none of them were big enough to be noticeable to anyone but me.

If you’re looking for a dark tan, this isn’t the tan for you.  This is more of a gradual tanner, and I think there are better gradual tanners out there.

But if you’re in a bind, this isn’t the worst tanner you could use.  It will definitely get you by if you need some color.

How Long It Lasts

My tan lasted about 3 days before it started looking bad.

It faded okay, I just had a few dry areas on my upper body.

OK For Men?

I think there are better self tanners out there, this one is just okay. So no, I don’t think it’s the best option for men.
