Overall Opinion:

I give Sugar Baby Dark Bronze Self Tan Mousse 2 out of 5 stars.  So it didn’t live up to my expectations, which is unfortunate.

I really didn’t like much about this self tanner, but the price wasn’t too bad, so at least I’m not out an arm and a leg.

For starters, let me tell you this is an express tan…I didn’t even realize this until I received the product.  So you only need to leave the mousse on for one hour before washing it off.  The product will then take another 6-8 hours for the color to develop on your skin.

I just didn’t have a great experience with this self tanner.  The smell is very strong and not pleasant, it reminds me of chemicals.

The product also stayed sticky on my skin for the entire hour before I washed it off.

I also felt like my final tan left a lot to be desired.  The color was very light, and not natural looking on me.  It had a yellow hue to it, so it just didn’t work with my skin tone.  Maybe it will work for some of you guys though.

So overall, I’m not impressed with this Sugar Baby Express Tan.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

Sugar Baby Dark Bronze Self Tan Mousse is a foam that has a light texture.

The foam is brown, and you can see the guide as you’re applying to your skin.

Application

I used a tanning mitt to apply this mousse, and I still found it to be pretty messy.

The guide is kinda hard to blend in, which left a streaky mess on my skin.  So you may need to use a little extra elbow grease while rubbing this one in.

The dark brown guide helps you see where you’re applying the mousse, which is nice.

The texture holds up well during application, my only issue was with getting the guide to blend in and being left looking streaky.

Drying Time

This one stayed sticky and wet on my skin for longer than I’d like.

It felt sticky the full hour I kept it on; I was really excited when it came time to wash it off.

One thing that really sucks about this product is it comes off on everything you touch!  It came off on my stool I sat on, my towels, etc.  Everything turned a pinkish, brown color.

Smell (Before Application)

This one has a pretty strong scent.  It initially smells good, and tropical (like coconut).  But that only lasted a few seconds before a very chemical scent hit my nose.  It smelled really bad and strong.  I was thankful I only had to leave the product on an hour before washing it off.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

You only need to leave Sugar Baby Dark Bronze Self Tan Mousse on for 1 hour before washing it off, which is good as far as the scent goes. I couldn’t wait to get the scent off my body.

The full hour it was on me it smelled very strong and pretty bad of chemicals.

After I washed it off, the bad smell thankfully went away until the next morning when it came back a little bit.

Color Produced

This mousse is a 1 hour express tan, which I didn’t initially realize when ordering the product.  But once I got it, I quickly realized that as it says it right on the bottle!  So those of you who are looking for a tanner to leave on overnight, this isn’t the one for you.

The directions say to just leave the mousse on your body for 1 hour, which I did.  After 1 hour, I washed it off in the shower and I saw so much guide come off.

I went to bed and waited overnight for my tan to develop.

The next morning I woke up and I was very underwhelmed by the color my skin was.  It was a very light tan, and it looked patchy and yellow/orangey on my skin tone.

For me, the color just didn’t look natural at all.  I don’t know if this is supposed to be more of a gradual self tanner, but if it is, it doesn’t say so anywhere.

I wish my tan was more even looking, darker, and more of a brown color rather than yellow.

How Long It Lasts

Unfortunately, my tan didn’t last very long with this tanner.

It only lasted about 2 days and it looked so patchy as it faded! What a let down.

OK For Men?

No.  I don’t think men will like this one.

Price

This one is an average price point… it’s $21.75 per bottle.
