Overall Opinion:

I recently tried this mist from the very popular St. Moriz line.  St. Moriz is popular because of its cheap price tag and easy to access products.

After testing out the St. Moriz Self Tanning Mist, I give it 2.5 out of 5 stars. So it’s an average self tanner in my opinion.

So, let’s start off with the things I like about this self tanner.  I tried this in the medium shade, and I was happy with the color it produced.  I ended up getting a light to medium shade after one use.  My tan was very smooth and natural looking, although I wish it was darker.  But for a medium shade tan, it looked nice and glowy.

I also like the cheap price tag and the quick drying time.

Now, I really don’t like how difficult and messy it is to apply this tanner.  It gets EVERYWHERE and stains what it touches.  It got all over my shower and was such a pain to clean up.

This one is a two-step application, you need to mist the product and then rub it in.  I ended up just spraying it directly onto my mitt and then blended it in.  That was much easier and cleaner.

I’m also very disappointed that my tan faded away after only one day!  I’d need to use this one 4 times a week to stay tan.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

This is a fine mist with a dark brown/blackish color guide.  The guide is SO dark, so you can really see it as you apply the product.

This is a 360 degree spray, which makes it nice when applying as you’re able to turn the bottle upside-down to apply to your back if needed.

Application

Applying St. Moriz Tanning Mist is SO messy.  It doesn’t come out in a wide spray; it only covers tiny areas at a time.

So once I had applied it all over, I looked like I had little penny sized black dots all over my body.  I had to go back with a tanning mitt and blend the product in.  Blending this in is an absolute must!  Or else your tan will end up looking all messed up.

I ended up switching to spraying the product on the mitt first, and then applying to my skin.  This was easier, but still very messy.

So much of the mist fell to my floor and turned my entire shower floor brown!  That was fun to clean up…NOT!

So make sure you put down some old towels you don’t mind staining.

Unfortunately, I found it very tedious and messy to apply.

Drying Time

Thankfully this mist dries quickly.  It dried completely in about 15 minutes, which isn’t too bad.  I’m really glad it dried fast because I wasn’t looking forward to sitting around waiting for it to dry and stain everything I touched!

It wasn’t sticky while I waited for it to dry, which is another plus.

Smell (Before Application)

This self tanner smells gross.  It has a scent that resembles chemicals.  I don’t know how else to describe it then smelling like chemicals and DHA.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

By the next morning, all I could smell was DHA….gross.

Color Produced

I woke up the next morning looking very dark (due to the dark brown color guide).  After I showered it off, I was left with a light to medium tan.  Which I was okay with, seeing as I tried this in the medium shade.

If I were to use this self tanner again, I’d use the dark shade in order to be a little darker.

But anyways, my tan was a nice light to medium shade.  It was smooth and streak free, which is what I look for.

The color guide is deceiving as I woke up thinking my tan would be darker than it actually was.

How Long It Lasts

I was really letdown with how long St. Moriz Self Tanning Mist lasts.  My tan faded so much after only one day.  I literally felt I needed to reapply by day two.

I’m very disappointed my tan didn’t last longer.  You’ll probably need to apply this one at least 4 times a week, which is a lot.  That’s more like a gradual self tanner.

OK For Men?

The color is ok, but it doesn’t last more than a day.  So don’t use this one unless you’re looking to only be tan for one day.

Price

St. Moriz Self Tanning Mist is $12.99 per bottle.  That’s a pretty cheap price point, but honestly I wouldn’t pay that again for this product.
