Overall Opinion:

While you won’t achieve a deep, “hours in the sun” look with SOL Deeper by the Drop Tanning Serum, this product does have some nice features, especially for individuals new to tanning.

It’s easy to use and incorporate into products you already own, and the lack of color guard and sticky residue make it easy to add the tanner into your everyday, or every other day, routine.

Unfortunately, if you’re an experienced tanner or simply looking for a deeper color, this probably isn’t the product for you. Even the number of drops to achieve a medium tan only darkened my complexion slightly, and the color I did achieve was gone in 1-2 days.

Depending on your tanning goals and comfort level with at-home tanning, SOL Deeper by the Drop Tanning Serum could be a nice option for you!

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

SOL Deeper by the Drop Tanning Serum is a clear, gel-like tanning serum. When added into my daily moisturizer, it made my lotion feel thinner than normal, but it was still easy to apply as normal.

My lotion dried faster than it normally does with the tanning serum added into it, and since there’s no color guard, it was really easy to get dressed and go about my day.

Overall, this is a very comfortable tanning product to wear!

Application

The application for SOL Deeper by the Drop Tanning Serum is simple. You just mix the tanning serum into your daily moisturizer. The number of drops you add in is dependent on how deep of a tan you’re hoping to achieve.

I chose to use 7-10 drops to achieve a medium tan.

Once your lotion is absorbed, you can get dressed and go about your day since there isn’t any color guard or sticky residue remaining.

Drying Time

The dry time for SOL Deeper by the Drop Tanning Serum was super quick—less than 5 minutes. Normally with products that mix into your body lotion, the lotion takes the same length of time to absorb as it does without the tanning drops added.

That wasn’t the case with this product, however. My body lotion actually dried faster by adding in the tanning serum than it normally does.

Smell (Before Application)

Since my body lotion is odorless, I was able to smell SOL Deeper by the Drop Tanning Serum really well. It had a very fresh, baby powder scent to it, which I personally enjoyed!

I feel like most self tanners have a sweet odor to them, but that wasn’t the case with this product.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

After about 30 minutes, the fresh baby powder scent went away and a strong self-tanner odor emerged.

I was a little surprised at how strong the scent was, and unfortunately, it hung around for about 3 hours.

Color Produced

After about 12 hours of wear with SOL Deeper by the Drop Tanning Serum, I noticed a light, natural-looking tan develop on my face and body. It definitely has more of a sun-kissed look than a dark tan.

I used the number of drops to achieve a medium tan (7-10), but that definitely wasn’t what I got. You could probably achieve a slightly deeper color with more drops, but it’s a little tricky to mix that number of drops into the amount of moisturizer you need for each area of your body. The tanning serum would overwhelm your lotion, in my opinion.

Overall, it’s a nice look but not all that impressive of a color change to my complexion.

How Long It Lasts

Since the tan I achieved was really light, I didn’t see it much past one or two days post-application.

This isn’t a huge deal since this is an easy tanning product to incorporate into everyday use, but it doesn’t last as long as many other tanning products I’ve used.

OK For Men?

Yes! The baby powder scent might be a little feminine at first, but it dissipates after about 30 minutes.

Price

If you’re looking for a slight sun-kissed look for your complexion, I think SOL Deeper by the Drop Tanning Serum is a great choice and worth the money.

It’s easy to use, and would be a really great product for first-time tanners, as well. On the other hand, however, this probably isn’t worth the money for someone looking for a deep tan.
