Overall Opinion:

If you’re hoping to achieve a medium tan from your at-home tanning attempt, Blue Saint Instant Self-Tanner is a great option to do just that!

It’s easy to apply, and the product comes with its own tanning mitt, so you have everything you need to execute the perfect tan. The tan you achieve looks natural, and hangs around for a few days before fading nicely.

The biggest hang-up with this product is the scent. Both the odor when applied initially and the scent that develops as you wear it are truly grotesque, and it’s almost enough to make you avoid the product altogether.

However, if you can get past the smell, it’s clear to see that the product delivers a medium, natural tan with minimal effort required!

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

Blue Saint Instant Self-Tanner is a tanning mousse and has the consistency of most other tanning mousses on the market, so it’s pretty average in that regard.

It has an army green color guard to it, which was helpful in terms of application.

Once the tanner had absorbed into my skin, it left behind a sticky residue that hung around for an hour or so, but it wasn’t overpowering or too uncomfortable.

The color guard also faded once the product had dried down, leaving my skin with just a slightly darker tint than normal.

Application

I was really excited to find that Blue Saint Instant Self-Tanner came with a tanning mitt! That’s such a fun touch, and it was actually a high-quality tanning mitt.

So I made sure to apply the product on clean, exfoliated skin using the tanning mitt. The instructions said to use 1-2 pumps on smaller areas, and 2-3 pumps on larger areas. I found that ratio to be pretty spot on.

The application was really easy. The dark color guard allowed me to see where I was applying the product and spots I had missed.

The formula was easy to glide on and massage into my skin, and I was able to go back over areas I failed to cover the first time around with little effort.

Drying Time

The dry time for Blue Saint Instant Self-Tanner was average for a tanning mousse. After about 10 minutes, I was dry enough to put my clothes on.

My skin remained fairly sticky for the next hour or so, which was to be expected, but it was still a pretty comfortable self-tanner to wear.

Smell (Before Application)

When I first applied Blue Saint Instant Self-Tanner onto my tanning mitt, I nearly gagged. I don’t think I’ve ever used a product that had this terrible of a smell.

The self-tanner odor was beyond overpowering. The scent itself was strong, and the brand did nothing to try and mask the odor. Applying it all over my body was a really gross experience due to the smell alone.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

Unfortunately, the awful tanner scent hung around the entire time I had Blue Saint Instant Self-Tanner on. I knew I couldn’t rinse the product off for fear of the color not developing, so I felt trapped in the stench for hours.

This aspect of the tanner is almost unbearable and nearly made me want to scrap the entire review altogether. I definitely wouldn’t be able to go out with this on unless I planned on dousing myself in perfume to cover the awful odor.

Color Produced

After about 12 hours of wear, I noticed a medium, natural looking tan develop on my skin. There wasn’t any orange undertone; overall, the color was a nice bronze and looked really good.

There was an option at application to apply a second coat once the first coat had dried to achieve a darker tan, but I wanted to see what one coat could do. So if you’re interested in a darker tan, I think this product would be able to manage that, as well.

Overall, I was impressed with the tan I achieved and how my complexion looked.

How Long It Lasts

The tan I achieved with Blue Saint Instant Self-Tanner lasted for about 3 days. I think the color would’ve lasted longer if I had used a second coat, too.

When the tan began to fade, it did so without any streaking so I was able to enjoy the tan for a little longer, even if it was lighter than it was initially.

OK For Men?

Yes! This is a nice option for any gender.

Price

If you can get past the truly awful odor of Blue Saint Instant Self-Tanner, then it’s definitely worth the money.

I think it’s a fair price given the amount of product you receive and the results you achieve.
