Overall Opinion:
I gave So Bronze Self Tanning Lotion 2.5 out of 5 stars, so it’s another “middle of the road” product.
The things I liked about this self tanner were the shimmery look of it, the dark color and it lasted about 3-4 days.
It also smelled really nice at first, but that changed once I applied it.
I didn’t like how streaky the color was or how messy the product was to apply.
I also think it’s way too expensive for the quality of product you get.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
So Bronze Self Tanning Lotion is a shimmery dark-brown lotion.
There’s a very dark guide in it and the product itself feels pretty slick.
There’s also a light shimmery look to the product, which I liked; but it’s very girly.
Application
This product was a nightmare to apply.
The dark guide is impossible to blend into your skin, and I was left looking like a complete mess.
After a few minutes of trying to blend the product into my skin, I gave up and realized it wasn’t going to blend in completely.
So I went to bed with major streaks all over my body, just hoping they would wash off along with the guide the next morning.
I would most definitely make sure you use a tanning mitt when applying this product as it’s really messy and can stain your palms.
Also, be very careful not to get this product on any sheets or towels, it’s really difficult to wash out!
Drying Time
It took about 25-30 minutes for So Bronze Self Tanning Lotion to dry completely.
Thats about average, maybe a little longer.
The annoying thing is you can’t touch ANYTHING while waiting for this product to dry or else you will stain it.
Smell (Before Application)
When I first smelled this product, I really liked it.
It smelled like a mix of bananas and coconuts.
However, once I applied the product onto my skin, the DHA smell became very prominent and my love for the smell quickly turned to disgust.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
The next day the product reeked on my body.
I could definitely smell the DHA mixed with the tropical scent, and it was not pleasant at all.
I was relieved once I showered and the smell was completely gone.
Color Produced
I tried the Medium/Dark shade and it was pretty true to its name.
I ended up with a medium-to-dark shade tan that was very streaky.
It’s too bad the color was streaky because I liked how dark it was.
But there were areas on my legs that had huge streaky lines on them, I looked a little scary.
My shower turned all brown when I washed this product off, so most of the guide washed off in the shower, but the splotchiness remained.
How Long It Lasts
This self tanner lasted about 3-4 days, but by the 4th day my color looked really speckled and splotchy.
I didn’t like how this product faded at all, everyone could tell I was using a self tanner… there was nothing naturally looking about it.
OK For Men?
No, So Bronze Self Tanning Lotion isn’t one men will like!
The dark guide is very messy, there’s shimmer in the product, and the color is streaky.
Price
So Bronze Self Tanning Lotion sells for $29.50 for a 5.5 ounce bottle.
That’s $5.36 an ounce, which is more than average, and not worth the price.
