Overall Opinion:

There are things I like about Skinny Tan 7 Day Tanner, as well as some things I dislike.

I give this self tanner 2.5 out of 5 stars, because I think it’s pretty average.

The first thing I like about this tanner is how long it lasts. Now, it’s not the advertised 7 days, but it lasted 5 days, which is still good.

I also like the color it produces, although it’s not nearly dark enough for me.  But for those of you with very pale skin, you may like it.  I think it’s more of a gradual self tanner.

Now, I don’t like the drying time, as it took over an hour to completely dry.

It’s also difficult to apply, as it’s very sticky and difficult to blend in.

The smell is good, but by the next morning, it reeks of DHA.

So overall, it has its pros and cons.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

Skinny Tan 7 Day Tanner comes out with a brown guide, and when you apply it to your skin, it has a caramel color.  So you can definitely see where you’re applying it.

It has a very sticky, slick feeling; it kind of resembles a very thick gel.  It’s one of the thicker self tanners out there, so don’t expect a thin lotion.

Application

This one takes some elbow grease to rub in.  Like I mentioned, it’s thick and sticky, which doesn’t make for an easy application.

I found this one especially difficult to apply to my back, even when I used my body buddy back applicator.  I had to call on my husband to help me out.

When I was done applying it, I looked extremely streaky.  So this one never fully blends in and looks even.  You can blend as much as you want and it still looks streaky.  The good news is that’s from the guide, so it should wash off.

I’d highly recommend using a mitt when applying this one, the dark guide can get messy!

Drying Time

Skinny Tan 7 Day Tanner comes out of the bottle sticky, and stays sticky.  Once I applied it to my skin, it didn’t fully dry until after an hour.

My skin felt really sticky while I waited for it to dry, which was annoying.

Smell (Before Application)

This self tanner claims to have a “delicious coconut scent”, which is only half true.

It does have a nice coconut smell, but I could also smell DHA with it, which made the scent less pleasant.

But overall, the scent is pretty good.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

The next morning I could still smell the coconut, but the DHA was much stronger than the night before.  It caused the coconut to smell sour.

Color Produced

I like the color this one produces; it’s just not nearly dark enough for me.

I’d say this is a gradual self tanner, which I didn’t expect.  It doesn’t say anywhere that it’s gradual or buildable, and judging by the name “7 Day Tanner”, I thought this was a one and done tanner.

After one application, I had a light to medium tan.  My tan looked natural, but it was so light.

I also had a few streaks on my upper arms.

But for those of you looking to only get a shade or two darker, you may like this one just because it’s so subtle of a tan.

This self tanner also claims to help combat cellulite and help you look “skinnier”.  This I don’t agree with.

In general, self tanners can help to conceal cellulite and give a slimming effect, but this self tanner didn’t do that any better than other self tanners out there.

How Long It Lasts

This self tanner is called 7 Day Tanner, and they claim it lasts 7 days.

It doesn’t last a full week, it instead lasts about 5 days, which is actually longer than I expected it to last.

Even though my tan was light, it lasted about 5 days, which is pretty good.

It didn’t get too streaky or dry looking as it faded either.

OK For Men?

Men may like this one if they’re only looking for a light, subtle tan.  If you’re looking for some real color, I’d look elsewhere.

Price

Skinny Tan 7 Day Tanner is $39.95, that’s on the pricier side.
