Overall Opinion:
After trying out this self tanner, I’m very let down.
I got zero tan at all! This is more like a scented moisturizer, than a self tanner. I tried really hard to see my tan, but I couldn’t see any color at all. This was very disappointing to me.
The smell isn’t good either. It has a very strong perfume scent.
It comes with a tanning mitt, and the price is great.
But that doesn’t make up for the fact that Anjou Self Tanner just doesn’t work.
This self tanner is a let down, so I ranked it 1 out of 5 stars.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
Anjou Self Tanner is a thick, white cream. There’s no color guide in it.
It feels very soft and hydrating to the touch.
Application
This self tanner comes in a kit where you get a tanning mitt as well. The tanning mitt is very high quality, and makes it really easy to apply.
This one goes on like your normal body moisturizer does. It even looks and feels like a body moisturizer.
I love that this self tanner includes a mitt, although with this one, I’m not sure that you really need it.
But anyways, application is easy, but since the product is thick, it takes a little elbow grease to rub it in. It isn’t one of those thin lotions that just glide over your skin.
Drying Time
I thought this one would take forever to dry, just due to how thick the product is. But it ended up taking about 30 minutes to dry, which is pretty average.
While I waited for it to dry, my skin felt sticky, but at least I didn’t need to worry about a dark guide staining things.
Smell (Before Application)
Anjou Self Tanner has a strong perfume scent to it, and it’s not very pleasant.
I personally don’t care for the smell of this one; it kind of gave me a headache. It’s not a light scent at all, it’s very heavy and maybe floral? It’s hard to describe, other than I don’t care for it.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
The next day I didn’t smell any self tanner smell, which is great.
I smelled a tiny bit of the perfume scent, but it wasn’t nearly as strong as the night before, thankfully.
Color Produced
I literally got no tan with this self tanner. I woke up the next morning and there was no change in my skin’s color.
I was actually quite embarrassed because I used it before an event, and I was so pasty white.
This is definitely more like a moisturizer than a self tanner.
I couldn’t even say I got one shade darker. They must have a minimal amount of DHA in here, because there’s no self tanning aspect to this lotion.
I was really let down by the lack of color this “self tanner” produced.
How Long It Lasts
I can’t even say how long the product lasts, because I had no tan.
So I’d say my tan lasted not even one day… my tan didn’t exist to begin with!
OK For Men?
No, I think men will be very let down with this self tanner and the “color” it produces.
Price
Anjou Self Tanner is $8.99 per bottle. That’s extremely cheap, but I still wouldn’t purchase again because I got no tan.
