Overall Opinion:

I gave Sally Hansen Airbrush Sun Mousse 3.75 out of 5 stars, so I really enjoyed it.

I really like the color it produces, the price point, and how it dries in only 15 minutes.

The color is deep and brown; I looked like I’d been in the sun for a few days.  It looked very natural, except for a few areas around my ankles and elbows where the product streaked.

The one thing I really disliked about this self tanner is the smell.  It smells really bad, and the smell is strong.  It smells like DHA mixed with a gross perfume.  Unfortunately, the smell gets worse until you wash the product off after about 6 hours.

But overall, I think this is a great option, especially for a drugstore self tanner that only costs $12.00.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

Sally Hansen Airbrush Sun Mousse is a light, bubbly mousse with a brown guide.

The texture is very nice and light; it held its shape nice and didn’t get runny.

Application

I used a mitt and this one was very easy to apply.

I could see where I was applying the mousse, and the texture was great.  It never got runny or messy.

I just pumped a little onto my mitt and applied to one body part at a time.

The guide blended in very nicely and I was instantly bronze.

If you don’t use a mitt, it has the potential to become very messy and stain things it gets on, so be careful.

Drying Time

This mousse took about 15 minutes to dry, which is pretty good for a mousse.  In general, mousses take longer to dry and can be sticky.

But I didn’t notice this one being sticky, and I was happy I could apply my clothing after 15 minutes.

Smell (Before Application)

This one smells really bad.

It smells like baby powder, or old lady perfume mixed with DHA.  It’s a VERY perfumey scent, and is very overwhelming.

By the time I was finished applying it, I needed to get some fresh air just because the scent is so strong.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

The next morning I could smell a lot of DHA, and I could still smell some perfume.  The two scents mixed together and weren’t pleasant at all.

Color Produced

I was left with a dark tan after I showered Sally Hansen Airbrush Sun Mousse off.

I really liked how my tan looked; it was sun kissed and natural.  I had a few streaky areas, like my ankles and elbows, however.  But besides that, I was very pleased with my tan.

I did try the dark shade, I’m not sure if they have other shades.  This may be too dark for some of you who are looking for a medium tan, or for those of you who have very pale skin to begin with.

A little of the self tanner rubbed off on my clothes and sheets, but thankfully it washed out.

How Long It Lasts

My tan lasted about 4 days, and as it faded, it became splotchy and reptilian looking.

My husband said I looked diseased, so this one doesn’t fade the best.  But a lot of dark self tanners fade like this.

OK For Men?

Yes, I think men who are looking for a dark tan will like this mousse.

Price

Sally Hansen Airbrush Sun Mousse is $12.00 per bottle, which is less than your average self tanner.
