Overall Opinion:

If we were rating self-tanners on ease of use alone, Pink Lily Dark Self Tanning Foam would get an almost perfect score.

The tanning foam is extremely easy to apply, allowing you to go over areas multiple times without the color lifting off your skin. It also dries within minutes, making this the least-sticky tanning foam I’ve ever used.

Unfortunately, the tan produced is the aspect we care about most when rating a self-tanner, and Pink Lily Dark Self Tanning Foam is an epic fail in that department.

Despite choosing the dark formula, and leaving it on for the maximum length of time before rinsing off, I didn’t see any tan develop whatsoever. For that reason alone, I can’t rate this tanner any higher than a single star.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

Pink Lily Dark Self Tanning Foam is a dark brown tanning foam. The consistency is in line with most other tanning foams or mousses, so there aren’t any surprises there.

When applying it to my body, it was very moisturizing and easy to rub in. Once it had dried, it didn’t leave behind any sticky residue at all.

That aspect, combined with the fading color guard, made this a very comfortable and easy product to both apply and wear post-application.

Application

I used a tanning mitt to apply and found that it was super simple in general to use.

For starters, the foam itself spread easily and evenly over my body without much effort. I was also able to cover a single area multiple times without the product already in place lifting off, so that made the time it took to tan much shorter than normal.

Once the product had dried, there was almost no residue at all, so I was able to easily get dressed and move on with my day until it came time to rinse the product off.

Pink Lily says to leave the foam on for 1-3 hours depending on how dark you want the tan. I chose to leave it on for the full three hours before rinsing off.

Drying Time

I couldn’t believe how quickly Pink Lily Dark Self Tanning Foam dried down! In 5 minutes or less, the product had completely absorbed to the point of no residue period.

This is the fastest dry time I’ve experienced with any tanning foam, and it’s a very impressive aspect for this product. I loved it!

Smell (Before Application)

Pink Lily Dark Self Tanning Foam doesn’t have a strong odor in general, so that’s a plus! What I could smell is a sweet scent with a self-tanning undertone.

If you’ve used many tanning foams before, this is a common combination of odors to experience so I wasn’t altogether surprised by it.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

After about 30 minutes of wear, this self tanning foam developed a strong self-tanning odor. This smell hung around until I rinsed the product off altogether.

Color Produced

I wish I could report even a slight tan after using this product, but that simply isn’t the case.

Despite choosing the dark formula and leaving it on for the full 3 hours, I didn’t experience any darkening of my skin period. After 24 hours post-application, I looked identical to what I looked like before using this tanning foam.

I’m so disappointed, especially since this product is so easy to use and enjoyable in many other ways.

How Long It Lasts

Since no tan developed, I have to say that Pink Lily Dark Self Tanning Foam lasts for zero days.

OK For Men?

Nope, but only because this product isn’t a good fit for any gender. It doesn’t create a tan period, so it’s not worthwhile.

Price

While the price tag is fair given the amount of product you get, it’s absolutely not worth the money.

It doesn’t make you any tanner and therefore, it’s a waste of your money.

Additionally, the brand doesn’t accept returns on opened product so you’ll be out the money if you choose to use it and have the same experience as I did.
