Overall Opinion:
When it comes to Naturena Ultra Premium Self Tanner Mousse, the pros and cons lists are almost the same length. Thankfully, with an affordable price tag, you can try the tan for yourself and make up your own mind!
On the positive side, you’ll undoubtedly achieve a medium, and possibly dark, tan after just two hours of wearing the self tanner. It’s also very easy to apply, and free of any streaks or splotchy areas.
However, it isn’t the most natural-looking tan. With a slight orange undertone, it’s pretty obvious you’ve achieved the tan from a bottle. It also has a very strong self-tanner odor to it that doesn’t go away until you’ve properly bathed.
Overall, I’m happy I tried out this product, and think this self tanner mousse could be a great option for certain individuals.

Look and Feel
Naturena Ultra Premium Self Tanner Mousse has a dark brown color guard and it’s a tanning mousse. The mousse itself is more watery than many other mousses, or foams, I’ve worked with.
The foam wasn’t very comfortable to wear. It felt pretty sticky when applying it, and that feeling remained until the product dried completely. However, that’s to be expected with any tanning mousse, so it’s not unique to this product.
Application
I used a tanning mitt to apply the mousse on clean, exfoliated skin, and found that the product kinda difficult to apply.
This mousse was a bit more watery than other tanning mousses I’ve used, so that made it harder to work with.
The color guard was super helpful in making sure I didn’t miss any spots, however. Overall, this mousse was just ok as far as application goes.
Drying Time
I always expect a longer dry time when using a tanning mousse, and that was the case with this self tanner mousse.
I felt really sticky for about 20 minutes post-application. I got dressed at that point so I could move on with my day, but that was probably too soon. Whoops!
However, I’d say I felt comfortable in my clothes about 45 minutes post-application. I don’t love how long it takes to dry, but I think that’s pretty standard with a tanning mousse.
Smell (Before Application)
Naturena Ultra Premium Self Tanner Mousse smells like self-tanner, but the scent itself isn’t very strong.
The brand didn’t try to cover the odor with any other scent, so you kind of get what you expect from this tanner as far as smell is concerned. Yuck!
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
The instructions say to simply rinse off the self tanner mousse after 1-3 hours, but I strongly recommend fully washing your body.
The self-tanner odor is extremely strong with this product. The scent just grew, and despite really rinsing off the product entirely, I still smelled like self-tanner until I took a full shower the next day.
This was a negative aspect to the product, in my opinion, but can probably be avoided if you make sure to wash your body when you’re done tanning.
Color Produced
I left Naturena Ultra Premium Self Tanner Mousse on for two hours, and achieved a medium-to-dark tan. I think if I’d left it on for another hour, it would’ve been dark. So you have options as far as how much color you want to achieve in your tan.
Overall, I think the tan looks nice, but I also think it has a slight orange undertone to it. In my opinion, you can tell I achieved my tan using self-tanner rather than actually laying out, so that’s a downside to this product.
I was still impressed with the amount of color I achieved in just two hours, though. It’s just less of a natural look than many other self-tanners I’ve used.
How Long It Lasts
The tan I achieved lasted about 2-3 days, which I think is pretty run-of-the-mill for a lot of self tanners.
I was also happy with how the tan faded. I didn’t experience any streaking—it just slowly faded after each time I bathed.
OK For Men?
Probably not.
Price
Naturena Ultra Premium Self Tanner Mousse is extremely affordable. However, I don’t think it’s worth the money.
This isn’t necessarily my favorite tan I’ve achieved, but you’ll definitely see results in just a few hours, and it’s overall an easy product to work with, so it’s up to you if you’d like to spend the money!
