Overall Opinion:
I honestly can’t believe myself how much I love Jergens Natural Glow Instant Sun Deep Aruba Tan. Everything about the user experience, and especially the tan achieved, totally outperformed any of my expectations.
This tanning mousse has a nice fragrance to it, is easy to apply, and feels moisturizing on your skin. After just 24 hours, a dark, natural-looking tan emerges on your body and lasts for nearly 3 days.
The only downside? It’s not exactly ‘instant’. You have to wait that full 24 hours for your tan to develop, but boy, is it worth the wait!
This affordable self-tanner is perfect for beginner and experienced tanners alike, so I highly recommend it to anyone!
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
Jergens Natural Glow Instant Sun Deep Aruba Tan has a light brown, almost tan, color guard to it, and like it says in the description, is a tanning mousse.
The self-tanner was really comfortable to wear, both when I applied it and when it dried down. It had a moisturizing feel to it, and didn’t cause any stickiness on my skin.
This is definitely a tanner you can apply and then leave your house with it on. It tints your skin ever so slightly when you first apply it, but then your skin looks completely normal after about an hour or so.
Application
I used a tanning mitt to apply this sunless tanning mousse on my clean skin, and it was simple to apply.
The mousse made it easy to rub into all areas of my skin. However, the color guard really isn’t much help. Since it’s so light, it essentially goes away upon application.
Even without the color guard as a guide, the formula was really easy to make sure I got every area of my body covered.
Finally, you don’t need to rinse the product off after applying.
Drying Time
I absolutely love how quickly this mousse dries! I was pretty skeptical when the instructions said the product is dry after 60 seconds, but that was definitely the case.
Just a minute after application, I got fully dressed. There wasn’t any sticky residue on my skin. Instead, my skin felt super soft, almost like I’d just used a new moisturizer.
Like I said above, this is a tanner you can easily leave the house and go about your day immediately after using.
Smell (Before Application)
Jergens Natural Glow Instant Sun Deep Aruba Tan doesn’t have any hint of old school self-tanner in it, which is such a positive and super refreshing!
It has a clean odor to it, with a slight fragrance aspect to it. I really liked the smell and didn’t find it overpowering in the least.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
I noticed about an hour post-application that a slight self-tanner smell began to develop.
It was very minor, though. Much lighter than most other self tanners in fact. And after a few hours of wear, the scent went away completely.
Color Produced
If I’m honest, I had little confidence that this self tanner would produce a meaningful tan. The color guard wasn’t dark to begin with, and my skin looked the exact same that entire first day.
Also, the directions don’t say how long to leave this product on, so I left on overnight. I actually left it on a full day since I didn’t have time to shower it off the next morning.
When I went to shower 24 hours post-application, I couldn’t believe how dark my tan was! Not only was it a bronze, natural-looking tan, but it was seriously dark. Way darker than I’ve achieved with many other self-tanners.
I’m so impressed with this Jergens product. The instructions also recommend that you can apply the tanner again 24 hours later for a darker tan, but I don’t’ see any reason why you’d need to do that.
This color payoff is insane, and I’m really happy with the tan I achieved!
How Long It Lasts
The tan I achieved lasted for a solid 3 days.
When the tan began to fade, it did so without any weird streaking so I was able to enjoy the bronzed look the entire time the product was visible on my skin.
OK For Men?
Yes! The scent upon initial application might be a bit on the feminine side, however that goes away after 30 minutes or so.
Based on the tan you achieve, however, it’s well worth the temporary fragrance for men.
Price
Jergens Natural Glow Instant Sun Deep Aruba Tan is insanely affordably. I listed the price as quoted on Amazon, but some other sites have it listed for $12.99. Even for that price, this self-tanner is a total steal.
Not only is it easy to use, for beginner and experienced tanners alike, but also, the results are bananas! You’ll see a dark tan emerge after just 24 hours. This product is totally worth the price tag and more.
