Overall Opinion:

I gave this express tan from Mine Tan 2.5 out of 5 stars.  So I find this self tanner to be very average.

I’ve also tried the Mine Tan Original formula, which I really like.  So I was expecting this formula to be high quality as well, but unfortunately it’s just not up to par for me.

You only have to leave this self tanner on for 1-3 hours, which is a plus.  But the downside is it got all over my clothes while I was waiting the 2 hours to shower the product off.

It’s also very messy to apply and doesn’t smell very good.

The tan I got was a light shade, in my opinion it looked like an average tan.  There was nothing special about it, and it didn’t look as good as some others out there.

So overall, this is just an okay self tanning option.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

This Mine Tan product is a mousse, with a very dark brown guide.

The mousse is a good texture, nice and foamy.

Application

Applying this self tanner is very messy.

The guide is so dark; it gets all over the place!

You can really see the guide as you apply to your skin, because it’s so dark in color.  After I fully applied to my body, I looked very dark and very streaky.

Drying Time

You only need to keep this self tanner on from 1-3 hours since it’s an express tan.

I kept mine on for about 2 hours, and it finally dried after about an hour.

While I waited for it to dry, it felt sticky, like most mousses do.

Smell (Before Application)

I’ve tried one other Mine Tan self tanner, their Original.  That one smelled really good, so I was expecting the same for this one. But unfortunately, this one smells different and I don’t like the smell.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

I don’t like the way this one smells, and it kinda got worse as time went on.

I could smell DHA mixed with a light citrus smell. It sucked I had to smell that for 2 hours while I waited for my tan to develop.

Color Produced

My tan ended up being just okay.

This is another express tan; Mine Tan seems to only make express tans.

I’ve tried their Original formula before, and I liked it.  But I can’t really say the same for this one.

You are supposed to leave this mousse on 1 hour for a light tan, 2 hours for a medium tan, and 3 or more for a darker tan.

I ended up leaving it on for 2 hours, so I was expecting a medium tan.

Now, don’t be fooled by the term “Express Tan”, you don’t get an immediate tan. You still need to shower the tan off, and wait about 8 hours to see the results.

So the next day I woke up and had a light tan.  It wasn’t as dark as I was hoping my “medium” tan would be. It was really more of a light tan.

And the color just wasn’t a good fit for me.  It wasn’t the dark brown color I desire when fake tanning, it was more orange and fake looking.

In my opinion, it produced just an average tan.  There was nothing special about it.

How Long It Lasts

I found my tan lasted about 3 days before it faded.

My skin seemed pretty hydrated as it faded, which was a good thing.

OK For Men?

No, I think if you want to try a Mine Tan product, go for their Original instead.

Price

Mine Tan Moroccan is pretty pricey.  It sells for $35.00 a bottle.
