Overall Opinion:
Meiskin Karamel Spray Self Tanner is a little better than your average self tanner, so I gave it 3 out of 5 stars.
I really like the color this one produces, it’s a gorgeous brown color. I also was happy with the drying time, and lack of scent this self tanner has.
My biggest problem with this self tanner (besides the hefty price tag) was it’s pretty streaky. I’d be willing to try it again, but it’ll take a lot of attention to detail and application to not have streaks.
So it has some good things about it, but it also has a few negatives.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
Meiskin Karamel Spray Self Tanner is a liquid spray with a dark brown tint to it.
The guide is very dark brown, and is visible once applied to your skin.
This one comes in a pump spray, not a continuous mist.
Application
You’ll need to apply this one with a mitt or else it’ll be very messy.
They don’t provide a mitt with it, which is a bit disappointing.
For a spray mist, this one is pretty powerful (a lot of product comes out at once), which actually makes applying it easier. With a lot of spray mists, you need to pump and pump to just cover a little area. And in the process my hand gets tired. But this one was easier than most.
I just applied a few pumps onto my mitt at a time, and worked body part by body part. The dark guide made it easy to see where I was applying it. However, the guide was pretty hard to blend into my skin. When I was done applying I looked pretty streaky.
Drying Time
Drying time wasn’t bad; it took about 20 minutes to dry.
I didn’t feel wet or sticky while I waited, which is always nice.
Smell (Before Application)
Meiskin Karamel Spray Self Tanner doesn’t have much of a smell to be honest.
But the light smell it has isn’t very good. It smells like DHA and a slight sour smell as well.
Thankfully the smell was so light that it didn’t bother me while applying it.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
Now, by the next morning the smell was a bit stronger, but it still wasn’t strong enough to bug me.
I could smell DHA, but only if I really took a big whiff.
Color Produced
I really love the color tan Meiskin produces. It was dark and brown (not orange at all). I could go on and on about how nice the color was.
My only problem was that I had streaks! We’re not talking small little streaks; I had a very noticeable streak up on my thigh that couldn’t have been from user error.
I’m so torn, because the color is great, but the streakiness really takes away from the color.
If you’re going to use this one, you need to be so careful while applying it, and don’t put on any clothing for at least an hour (even after the product has dried on your skin).
How Long It Lasts
My tan lasted 4-5 days, which I was happy with.
And thankfully, as the days went on, the streaking became less noticeable. Overall, Meiskin Karamel Spray Self Tanner faded very evenly.
OK For Men?
Yes, if they apply very carefully. The color is great, but streaking is very common with this one.
Price
Including shipping to the USA, Meiskin Karamel Spray Self Tanner comes out to $9.05 per ounce, which is very expensive. The shipping is more than the product itself!
