Overall Opinion:
As you can tell from the star rating Lancaster Self Tanning Comfort Cream received, this wasn’t a self tanner that worked well for me.
Some aspects about the product itself are good, however. It applies easily, leaves behind a nice fragrant scent, and dries so quickly that you can easily move about your day.
On the flip side, it’s a pretty pricey product based on the amount of cream you receive, and you don’t achieve any tan whatsoever. My skin looks exactly the same post-tan as it did pre-tan.
For that reason alone, I couldn’t give it higher than a single star. If you’re looking for a tanning lotion, there are many more affordable and more effective options on the market.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
Lancaster Self Tanning Comfort Cream is by far the thickest tanning lotion I’ve ever applied. It’s honestly thicker than a cream. It felt more to me like an ointment.
It also has a green/brown color guard to it, which I thought would be nice for application purposes (more on that later, however).
Once the self-tanner is applied, it feels more like a moisturizer than a tanning lotion. I really enjoyed that aspect since it was much more comfortable than many other self tanner residues.
Application
I was a little weary of applying Lancaster Self Tanning Comfort Cream because the cream itself is so thick. However, it ended up being super easy to apply!
I used a mitt for application, and the cream was very easy to rub in. Unfortunately, the color guard goes away the second you begin applying the product, so that wasn’t much help. However, the product seemed to glide over all areas of my body, so I wasn’t overly worried about streaking.
You don’t have to rinse the product off either, so once the tanner is dry, you can dress and move about your day. Super easy!
Drying Time
The dry time is super fast! Since the residue left behind initially feels more like a moisturizer than a self-tanner, I found that within 3-5 minutes of application I could easily get dressed.
I love this aspect about any self-tanner! And since the color guard disappeared entirely, it allowed me to go about my day as normal.
Smell (Before Application)
Lancaster Self Tanning Comfort Cream smells like a self-tanner being masked with perfume.
Overall, the scent wasn’t overpowering, and I actually enjoyed the fragrance the tanner included, so this wasn’t a big deal in terms of application.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
Normally, the good-smelling odor associated with a self-tanner goes away after a couple of hours and the nasty self-tanner smell grows stronger, but that wasn’t the case with this product.
Instead, the perfume scent remained, and I really enjoyed it!
Color Produced
I tried really hard to see any change at all to my tan after using Lancaster Self Tanning Comfort Cream, but my skin looks exactly the same.
I also waited 19 hours before rinsing off after applying the tanning cream, so it definitely had more than enough time to develop the tan.
This is a major bummer of a product in terms of results!
How Long It Lasts
Since I didn’t see any change in color, I would have to say that this tan lasts for zero days.
OK For Men?
No. Firstly, it’s not really a great option for anyone since it doesn’t deliver results, so that includes men.
Secondly, the perfume scent that this cream has is extremely feminine, so it wouldn’t be very user-friendly for males.
Price
You don’t get a lot of product to begin with, so it’s a little surprising that the price is as high as it is.
Additionally, I didn’t receive any color change to my skin after using this product, so for that reason, it’s definitely not worth the money.
