Overall Opinion:

I was so excited after I applied this product.

I loved the smell, the easy application and the drying time.

So needless to say I was disappointed when I got a very light tan after using this product 3 days in a row.

I was hoping the color would be darker, than this product would be awesome.

But in all honesty, this is more of a body moisturizer than a self tanner.

If you want to use this as a tan extender it may work, but as a self tanner the color just isn’t up to par.

Thankfully Helpz Touch of Summer isn’t very expensive, so I didn’t feel completely ripped off.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

Hempz Touch of Summer is a white moisturizer.

It feels a lot like a normal body lotion, not too thick and not too thin in texture.

Application

This one was very easy to apply.

There’s no guide in it, so you don’t have to worry about it getting too messy.

It goes on like your daily moisturizer, however this one does take a little longer than average to blend into your skin.

I didn’t wear gloves while applying this one, as it’s a gradual tanner and there was no dark guide to worry about.

Drying Time

This one was pretty average as far as drying time goes, it took about 25 minutes.

After it completely dried, I loved the way my skin felt…it felt so soft and moisturized!

Smell (Before Application)

Hempz Touch of Summer smells reallyyyy good.

It smells like raspberries, which is a very unique smell as far as self tanners go.

I didn’t smell any DHA, only the berry smell which I loved!

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

The next day I couldn’t smell anything when I woke up.

I wish the raspberry smell stuck around, but at least I didn’t smell any self tanner smell!

Color Produced

The color was the only thing I didn’t like about this gradual tanner.

I tried the shade for “medium skin tones”, and it turned out way too light.

I applied it for numerous days in a row, and I still didn’t achieve a medium/dark tan.

The color I got was a light to medium tan (more on the light side).

If I’m going to go through the work of applying this every night, I want to at least have a medium tan.

The light color I got was very natural (maybe because it was barely there).

To me, this felt more like a body moisturizer than a self tanner.

How Long It Lasts

Considering the color was so light, it didn’t take long to fade.

Hempz Touch of Summer lasted only about a day or two before the color faded away.

Honestly, you’ll probably have to apply this one daily to maintain any color at all.

OK For Men?

Men, if you’re looking for a self tanner, I don’t think this product is right for you.

However, if you’re looking for a moisturizer or tan extender I think you’d love this product…it smells great!
