Overall Opinion:

Bootz No 7 is a pretty well known brand, and I’ve tried some of their makeup before and loved it.

Needless to say, I was excited to try their self tanner….until I smelled it.  I couldn’t stand the smell, it smelled very strongly of self tanner and it really turned me off.

The color produced was a very orange, medium shade.  It was also pretty streaky, I think because you need to thoroughly blend the product in to make sure the product is evenly distributed on your skin.

The price is pretty affordable, which I liked, but the tan you get just isn’t worth it to me (hence the 2 star rating).

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

Boots No 7 Perfectly Bronzed Self Tan comes out as a clear aerosol spray.

There’s no guide in this one, although I expected there to be as most sprays have guides in them.

The spray has a very fine, lightweight feel, and goes on very evenly.

Application

I applied this one in my shower, as I expected it to have a dark guide in it like most aerosol sprays do.

I was surprised when I found out it had no guide.  But I’d still suggest applying it in your shower because the spray leaves a layer of residue on the floor.

I’d also suggest blending the product into your skin after your spray it on, because some areas will end up darker than others if you don’t.

The aerosol spray is very nice and even, unlike others I’ve tried that come out in little spurts.

Drying Time

Boots No 7 Perfectly Bronzed Self Tan took a little longer to dry than most sprays do.

It took about 30 minutes total before I felt completely dry.

You don’t have to worry about a guide staining anything while you wait for it to dry, but I’d still be careful what you touch.

Smell (Before Application)

Ew.  I really didn’t like the smell of this one.

It smelled overwhelmingly like self tanner.

I could still smell the product when I went to bed, it didn’t smell good!

I left this product on my bathroom counter, and whenever I went in there I could smell the strong self tanning smell.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

The next morning when I woke up, I still smelled like self tanner.

Thankfully it went away once I showered.

Color Produced

I wasn’t a huge fan of the color this one produced.

First of all, I looked orange.

Second of all, I had some splotchy areas that looked a lot darker than the others.

And third, I had some areas that looked really streaky and scaly.

The color was a medium shade, but all these issues made my tan look really bad.

How Long It Lasts

This self tanner lasted about 3-4 days before it started to rapidly fade.

As it faded my skin became very scaly and streaky.

OK For Men?

I don’t think men will like Boots No 7 Perfectly Bronzed Self Tan.

The smell is too gross, and the color is not appealing.

Price

This one sells for $12.99 for a 4.2 Oz bottle.

That works out to $3.09 per ounce, which is pretty cheap.  But you’re paying for a smelly, orange tan.
