Overall Opinion:
I give Evagloss Self Tanner 1 out of 5 stars after using it.
There’s really not much that stands out to me about this self tanner, except for the lack of color I got while using it. So unfortunately, this one just didn’t work for me. I don’t even think it’ll work for those of you with the fairest skin.
The tan I got was just so light I had almost forgot I used it the morning after I applied it!
I also had to use SO much product for just one application. And applying it is a pain, because so little product comes out with each pump of the bottle.
The smell isn’t very good and the drying time is pretty average.
So all in all, Evagloss earns a 1 out of 5 stars in my book.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
Evagloss Self Tanner is a very thin lotion that has a light tan color.
The color doesn’t work as a guide, so you can’t see it on your skin as you’re applying it.
Application
Honestly, this lotion is a pain to apply due to the application pump. Hardly any product comes out with each pump, so it took like 100 pumps of product to cover my entire body.
I actually ended up using SO much of the bottle after just one application, so a little bit does not go a long way with this one. You’ll probably only get about 2 full body applications with one bottle.
The product is easy to blend into my skin, so I didn’t have any problems there. But I still recommend using a tanning mitt in order to protect your palms during application.
Drying Time
Once I applied the product, it took around 20-25 minutes to dry. This is pretty average for a self tanning lotion, and I don’t have any issues with the drying time.
Like most products, it felt a little tacky on my skin until it fully dried.
Smell (Before Application)
I’m not a fan of how Evagloss self tanner smells.
It smells like soapy DHA. The overwhelming smell in this one is DHA, which is not a pleasant smell.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
After it processed, the DHA smell was still there, although it wasn’t as strong. But it still didn’t smell pleasant.
Thankfully the DHA smell fully went away after I showered the product off.
Color Produced
I’m very disappointed in the lack of color I got from this one. I guess it makes sense though, because DHA isn’t listed until their 10th ingredient. So they must not put much in there.
After I showered the Evagloss self tanner off my skin the next morning, I was left with a very light tan. The directions say that color will develop within 2-3 hours, but I left this one on overnight, and still didn’t see good results!
The tan I had was fine, just hardly visible. I definitely like a darker tan than I received with this one.
The good news is it didn’t look unnatural or streaky. I think this one will be too faint for even you novice self tanners or extremely fair people.
How Long It Lasts
My tan lasted one, maybe two days. It’s very hard to tell because the tan I got was so fair.
It faded naturally, and I didn’t get any streakiness or patchiness as it faded.
OK For Men?
No, unfortunately I don’t think Evagloss Self Tanner really works.
Price
Evagloss Self Tanner is $19.99 for 3.4 ounces. That comes out to almost $6.00 per ounce, which is more than average. There are better self tanners out there for around the same price, in my opinion.
