Overall Opinion:

I’m pretty impressed with Caribbean Tan Bronzing Mousse and like it even more than I thought I would.

This mousse claims to be a gradual tanner.  But I found I got a nice tan after only one application; I didn’t even need to apply it more than once.  Granted, I did try the darkest shade.

I got a dark tan that looked sun kissed and brown.  The only problem I had with my tan is I had a few missed areas (one on my leg and one on my armpit) that I missed.  There’s no color guide in this mousse so I couldn’t see where I was applying it.  I thought I had applied it very evenly and carefully, but I still ended up missing a few spots.

I like that there is no color guide because it makes it clean and easy to apply.  But on the other hand, you can’t see where you’re applying it.

The smell isn’t great; it smells like soap.  I wasn’t a fan of the smell, but it’s not the worst smelling tanner I’ve tried.

So overall, I found this one to be better than average, and I ranked it 3.75 out of 5 stars.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

I was really surprised to find out this mousse comes out white.  White mousses are rare, as most come out with a color guide.  This one has no color guide, and has a nice, foamy texture.

Application

Applying this self tanner is cleaner than most mousses because there’s no messy color guide.  But you do need to be extra careful while applying it because you can’t see where you’re applying it.

I still used a mitt to make application quick, and to protect my palms from getting stained.

I took my sweet time while applying this one to make sure I didn’t miss any spots (or so I thought).  Unfortunately, I still missed a few areas.

Drying Time

On the box, Caribbean Tan Bronzing Mousse claims to take 3 minutes to dry.  Now, that’s stretching it a bit.

It took about 15-20 minutes to dry, which still isn’t bad, but it definitely doesn’t dry in 3 minutes!

Smell (Before Application)

This self tanning mousse has a very strong soap smell.  It smells overwhelmingly of laundry or dish soap.  It doesn’t smell bad, but it’s not my favorite smelling self tanner either.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

I could still smell some soapy smell the next morning.  I could also smell a little bit of DHA. But I showered it off, and could no longer smell anything.

Color Produced

This mousse says it’s a gradual self tanner, and they have 3 different shades.  The shades are “A, B, and C” with A being the lightest and C being the darkest.  I tried the color C.

After one application, I was very impressed by my tan.  If this is truly a gradual tanner, it’s definitely one of the darkest gradual tanners ever.

I had a medium to dark shade tan after only one night.  I didn’t even need to apply it again.  So if you try the “C” shade, keep in mind you’ll probably only need to apply it once to achieve a nice tan.

Now, while my tan was a dark shade, I had a few areas that didn’t have any tan at all because I missed them during application.  I think that’s because the mousse is white, and I couldn’t see where I was applying it.  So you need to be extra careful when applying this one.

Caribbean Tan Bronzing Mousse has both DHA and Erythrulose in it, which are both self tanning agents.  That can explain why this color was pretty dark for a gradual self tanner.

But overall, I like the color this one produces; it looks sun kissed!

How Long It Lasts

My tan lasted about 6 days, which I was happy with.  For a gradual tan to last 6 days is really good.

As it faded, it got a little patchy but that’s because the color was pretty dark so it made it more noticeable.

OK For Men?

Yes, I think men will like this one.  It produces a great color!
