Overall Opinion:
Victoria’s Secret Self Tanning Tinted Lotion has some good qualities, but overall it falls a little flat.
It’s pretty easy to apply, has a light tint to it, and smells really, really good.
But the color it produces is mediocre and it doesn’t last very long. And when it starts coming off, it comes off splotchy and not very attractive.
So overall, this is just an average self tanner. If it was a little cheaper, it could qualify as a decent ‘drugstore’ self tanner. But as it stands, it’s just an average ‘premium’ product.
Detailed Review:
Look and Feel
Victoria’s Secret Self Tanning Tinted Lotion comes out of the tube as a medium-light, tinted lotion. It actually feels pretty good, not too heavy.
Application
This product isn’t too difficult to apply. It has a light brown tint that makes it pretty easy to see where you’ve put it.
It rubs in easily and gives you ample time before it starts to dry.
Drying Time
As a lotion, Victoria’s Secret Self Tanning product takes awhile to dry completely. After that time, it still felt a bit sticky and ‘heavy’ on the skin. Surprisingly, it did NOT come off on our sheets and towels. That’s a good quality for a tanner that has a tinted guide in it!
Smell (Before Application)
Like most things Victoria’s Secret produces, this one smelled very good. It’s very tropical and girly.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
The smell on this one pretty much disappeared when we woke up the next day. It definitely didn’t have much of that self tanner smell that people hate so much :)
Color Produced
Victoria’s Secret Self Tanning Tinted Lotion produced so-so color. It was a little darker than your average self tanner, which is good. But it was also a little streaky.
Overall, the color produced will probably work for most people, but there’s a problem…
How Long It Lasts
This is where Victoria’s Secret Self Tanning Tinted Lotion fell flat on it’s face.
It basically started coming off after about a day and a half. That’s really not very long for a medium-priced self tanner.
And the way it came off was even worse. It was very blotchy and patchy… and unfortunately looked really bad. This is one you’d definitely not want to use on your face.
OK For Men?
I don’t think many guys will want to use this. It smells very girly and comes off in a away that’ll make it obvious that you’re using a self tanner.
Definitely look elsewhere.
Price
Victoria’s Secret Self Tanning Tinted Lotion costs $15 for a 5.5 ounce bottle. That works out to $2.72 per ounce, which falls to the lower side of what most self tanners cost.
