Overall Opinion:
I gave Vani-T Brazilian Bronze Self Tan Mousse 3.25 out of 5 stars.
This is better than most instant tanners out there. This is a “1 Hour Tan” so you wash it off after only an hour or two.
After 1.5 hours, I had a nice medium shade tan that was gorgeous and natural looking.
The downsides to this product are the price tag, the smell (thankfully you don’t need to leave this one on long), and it faded pretty patchy.
But overall, I enjoyed using this self tanner.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
This is a mousse with a dark brown guide.
It’s pretty foamy and light feeling.
Application
This one really annoyed me when I applied it.
For some reason when I pumped the bottle, only a tiny bit of foam would come out. I don’t know if it was a fault with the pump, or if something is wrong with their formula.
But I literally had to pump SO many times to just get a little bit of product out.
The guide helps you see where you’re applying the product, it’s very dark. The product blends in nicely.
I used a tanning mitt while applying it.
Drying Time
Once applied, this product took about 25 minutes to dry. While it dried, my skin felt sticky and I had to be careful not to touch anything because it has a dark guide.
Smell (Before Application)
To me Vani-T Brazilian Bronze Self Tan Mousse smells like Windex.
I could also smell some pretty strong DHA (probably because this product has 15% DHA in it).
I didn’t like the smell of it at all. Thankfully after a few minutes on my skin the smell dissipated.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
The bad cleaner smell faded pretty quickly, but the DHA smell became stronger as the product developed.
Color Produced
This is a “1 Hour Tan”, so you leave it on 1 hour for a light tan, 2 hours for a medium tan, and 3-4 hours for a dark tan.
I was in a bit of a time crunch, so I left it on 1.5 hours. I washed it off after that, and I could visibly see the guide running down the drain. After I dried off, I had a little bit of noticeable color, but most of it was gone.
My tan continued to deepen over the next few hours and the next morning, I had about a medium shade tan.
I was surprised by how dark I got with just leaving it on 1.5 hours. My tan was brown and natural looking.
I really liked the color I got, and I could’ve gotten even darker by leaving it on another hour or two.
How Long It Lasts
My tan lasted 5 days before it faded.
That’s pretty normal as the bottle says to apply every 5-7 days.
As it faded I had some big areas that got really patchy and faded faster than others (especially on my legs).
OK For Men?
Yes, if you’re looking for a 1 Hour Tan this is better than most out there.
Price
Vani-T Brazilian Bronze Self Tan Mousse is $8.06 per ounce, which is higher than average. But I’d pay it again for this one.
