The Secret To A Kardashian Tan
The Kardashians have made quite a name for themselves, considering they’re famous for absolutely no reason at all. Kardashian Kolors nail polish, Belle Noel jewelry, and the Kardashian Kollection clothing line are just a few of the products from the Kardashian Empire. But they’re not done, this month they’ll be adding Kardashian Sun Kissed Self Tanner to that list.
As if we haven’t already heard enough about Kim Kardashian since Kanye knocked her up…
The girls are partnering with Ulta who will have the exclusive rights to sell a line of Kardashian Sun Kissed self tanning lotions and products. This three step system of tanning will include an exfoliation or color maximizing product, the actual tanner itself, and a tan extending product; each at the retail price range of $12.99 to $19.99.
You might be thinking to yourself “Isn’t the Kardashian make-up line Khroma in a serious lawsuit right now?” True, but we know from episodes of Keeping Up With the Kardashians that the warden, Kris Jenner, steam rolls over anything that gets in her way.
Kim Kardashian is the favorite Kardashian or more popular because of her lack of ability to make good decisions ( i.e. make a sex tape with Ray J that went viral, get married and then divorce a month later in private, get married to Chris Humphrey and then divorced a month later in public, the list goes on).
Kim says “I think tanning has really been a way of life for all of us, living in California…Especially, more recently, the need for sunless tan. When I travel, the one thing that makes me feel alive whether or not I have makeup on is a tan, especially on my face. When you travel you can’t just go lay out.”
She makes a good point and with the continuous research about the damage of direct sunlight it’s becoming more and more important to educate people about the benefits of sunless tanning; that just because you can’t lay out doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your tan.
Although this is the newest product under the Kardashian umbrella, it is not the first in the sunless tanning category. Kardashian Glamour Tan Self-Tanning launched in 2010 and then junked a few years later due to poor sales
The Kardashian Glamour Tan Self-Tanning Gel was pretty under the radar compared to the new Kardashian Sun Kissed Self Tanner. And now, considering the fame that this family has accrued over the years, I can only imagine the hype that will surround this new business venture with Ulta.
