Overall Opinion:

I had heard a lot about Kardashian Sun Kissed Instant Sunless Lotion and was anxiously awaiting my chance to try it out.

There’s a lot of things that we love about Kardashian Sun Kissed.  It smells really, really good and doesn’t fade or turn into the DHA smell at all.

There isn’t a guide in the lotion but the color begins to develop almost right away.  The final color result is a really nice tan that stays for about 5 days.

But, with the good comes the bad.

The application process was a little messy and sticky.

We were also upset at how streaky and blotchy the final result was.  I thought that after my first shower the darkness on my elbows, knees and ankles; as well as the streaks on my hands and knees would wash off.  IT DIDN’T!!  I even scrubbed and scrubbed and there’s still streaks and blotches on my skin.

Overall, we gave Kardashian Sun Kissed  3 out of 5 stars.  It’s definitely a good contender against other self tanners in its category because of the great tan that you end up with.  But, we can’t overlook the streaks and blotches that didn’t scrub off or blend in at all.  Which  forced me to wear pants all week.  Ugh!

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

Kardashian Sun Kissed squeezes out of the tube a tan-colored lotion.  It’s not very thick but about the same consistency of a daily moisturizer.

Application

I used gloves to apply Kardashian Sun Kissed.  There isn’t a guide to this product but I did see changes in color to my skin pretty quickly after applying.

It rubs on smooth but a little sticky.

As a side note, this is one self tanner where I probably didn’t need to wear gloves since it doesn’t have any guide color.

Drying Time

The directions for Kardashian Sun Kissed said to let it dry for 60 seconds before putting clothes on.  I think 60 seconds isn’t long enough however.

I would recommend allowing at least 15-20 minutes for the product to dry before getting dressed.

Smell (Before Application)

The smell of Kardashian Sun Kissed is fantastic!!  The almond and grape oil make for a good combination that’s light and refreshing.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

The initial smell lasts until you wash it off, no matter how long you wait to shower.

 I know this because I was really busy and didn’t shower for about 24 hours… oops :)

Color Produced

It takes about 6 hours for the product to develop to its darkest color.  I really liked the color that Kardashian Sun Kissed produced.  It’s a nice light brown bronze.

Unfortunately, with the good color, came streaks and blotches.  The worst of just about any product we’ve reviewed.

My elbows, feet, and ankles were very, very dark.  My wrists had streaks from where I had washed my hands after application.

Basically, my feet and hands looked really funky from this product.  I  even scrubbed in the shower multiple times to try and lighten the dark streaks.

It was really disappointing because we were very careful around these areas (as always).

How Long It Lasts

Kardashian Sun Kissed lasts for about 5-7 days at its darkest color.  This is longer than most tanners last, which is really nice.

OK For Men?

Probably not.  They will have the same problems as women with the streaks and blotches in certain areas.  And the smell may be too girly for most men.
