Overall Opinion:
After testing this self tanner, I gave it 2.5 out of 5 stars. So I found it to be average.
The only thing I liked about this product is the color it produces. I got a golden, medium tan that looked very nice.
I didn’t like the smell; it was awful. Applying it is kind of messy, and it was sticky as it dried.
The price point is average.
So overall, this is an average self tanner in my opinion.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
This is a very thick gel, with a dark brown guide.
The guide is one of the darkest ones out there.
The product is very thick and almost gooey feeling.
Application
Due to the color of this product you should use a tanning mitt when applying it.
The guide makes it easy to see where you’re applying it, but it also makes it messy.
The gel glided over my skin smoothly, and only took a minute or two to blend in.
I did get a little on my towels and it stained them, so be very careful.
Drying Time
Tan Fabulous Gel is pretty sticky while it dries.
It took about 30 minutes to dry all the way, and I was really sticky while I waited to put my clothes back on.
Even after it dried I could still feel some stickiness which wasn’t a good feeling.
Smell (Before Application)
Smells really bad!
All I could smell is DHA, I don’t know what people are talking about when they say this one has no smell.
I couldn’t stand the smell of this gel.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
I could smell the DHA well into the night, and the next morning.
It got smellier as it developed and by morning I was so ready to wash it off.
Color Produced
I was surprised once I showered off the guide, because I had a golden, medium tan.
My tan looked pretty natural and I liked how it looked.
It wasn’t a super dark tan, but I definitely had some color. I’d say it was a true medium tan.
I was happy with how it looked, it wasn’t orange at all.
How Long It Lasts
This gel faded rather drastically, and only lasted 3 days before it was gone.
You’ll have to apply this one every few days in order to keep your medium tan.
OK For Men?
Maybe. The color is good, but I didn’t like much else about it.
But if men are looking for a medium shade tan, you can give it a whirl.
Price
Tan Fabulous Gel sells for $19.95 for a 5 ounce bottle, which is about average. Keep in mind they charge an extra $7 bucks for shipping though, which seems like a lot to me.
