Overall Opinion:
St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse is one of our favorite mousse or foam products and is a great choice for shorter-term needs like a vacation, trip to the beach or a night out.
This product smells really good, is super easy to apply, and dries extremely fast.
The color is good but may be a little light for people who want to look really dark.
One bigger issue we have with this mousse is the color doesn’t last very long. In fact, it’s all but gone within just 3-4 days.
Overall though, this product is a good choice for those who don’t need (or want) it to last long.
Detailed Review:
Look and Feel
St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse comes out as a light-brown colored foam or mousse. It’s extremely light and airy (like most mousses).
Application
Applying this product is pretty straightforward.
It has a slight tint to it that serves as a great color guide so you know exactly where you’ve applied it. With many self tanners, the color guide is too dark, which makes application messy (and tends to get all over your sheets, towels and clothes).
Not so with St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse. This self tanner has the perfect amount of tint.
And because it is light, it spreads really easily and stays put– two important things when it comes to application.
Drying Time
St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse dries extremely quickly. This is one of the best qualities of this self tanner.
In fact, after about 15 minutes, you can touch bed sheets and clothes without worrying about it coming off. That’s a major plus in our book!
Smell (Before Application)
Before application, this product smells great. It’s a very light, clean smell.
I doubt there are many people out there who aren’t going to like the way this one smells.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
The pleasant smell of this product continued right through to the next day, albeit a lot less noticeable.
We couldn’t smell any trace of that typical self tanner smell you get with many, lesser quality products.
Color Produced
The color produced by St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse was good, but may be a little light for some people.
It turned out as a kind of caramel, light bronze color.
If you’re looking for a darker tan, and aren’t extremely pale to begin with, St. Tropez does have a darker version of this product available.
How Long It Lasts
Like many mousse products, this self tanner will only last a few days.
It’s perfect for short vacations and trips to the beach.
That said, it lasts for anywhere between just 2-4 days.
OK For Men?
This one’s not a bad choice for men, especially if they’re looking for a lighter color. For guys who are new to self tanning, this is an easy way to try it out.
Price
A full bottle of St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse costs $42, but you get 8 ounces for that.
So it works out to $5.25 per ounce, which is about average for the better self tanning products out there.
