Overall Opinion:

I was not too impressed by St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mousse.

I can honestly say this is the first product that freaked me out by the way I looked after I applied it!

It comes out as a mousse and has a very dark guide that is difficult to blend into your skin.

The worst part about this product is it takes a while to blend into your skin, and it dries extremely fast.  So it literally dried as I was blending it in, which left me splotchy and streaky.

So afterwards I looked like a creature that just crawled out of a mud bath.

The color was decent, I was impressed with the dark tan it produced.  However, due to the uneven application, I was left with streaks and splotches.

The reason I am no too upset with the quality of this product is that I only spent $4.90 on it.  I guess you get what you pay for!

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mousse comes out as a mouse and it has a very dark guide.

The guide almost looks dark green/brown when it comes out.

Application

This mousse is pretty messy.

First off, make sure you shake the bottle well before pumping it onto your hand, if you don’t the product comes out very watery.

Gloves are definitely needed to apply this product because the guide will stain your palms.

The guide stains everything it touches, so be careful where you apply this tanner!

It is extremely hard to blend this mousse into your skin.

I found that the product dried before I could completely rub the product evenly into my skin.  So I was left with some areas that were really dark, and some that were light.

I looked like a zebra after I applied this product.  We’re talking full on dark brown (mud looking) stripes and spots all over my body.

I actually had a little freak out after I applied this product, I was scared the dark guide wouldn’t wash off the next day, and I’d have to go to work looking like a circus freak.

Based off the application alone I was really scared to see the final color.

Drying Time

St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mousse dries really fast.  This may be the only time I will ever say this, but this product dried TOO fast.

It dried while I was still blending it into my skin, which ended up giving me an uneven application.

Smell (Before Application)

To me this product smells like soap, and not in a good way.

It smells like a cheap soap with a hint of DHA, I wasn’t a fan of it.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

The next day I could still slightly smell the soapy, DHA smell.

Thankfully that went away after I showered the product off.

Color Produced

After the difficult and messy application I was expecting the final color produced to be horrific.

However, it was decent.

I like the deep sunkissed glow it gave me, however it was a bit splotchy in some areas due to the uneven application.

So if it weren’t for the product drying too fast and causing an uneven application, the color would be a nice dark tan.

How Long It Lasts

St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mousse lasted around 3 days, which is about average.

The unfortunate part was that the splotchy, dark areas lasted just as long!

OK For Men?

No!  The application is far too messy, and they will freak out about how the tanner looks once you apply it!

Men might feel like they are covered in mud until they wash it off.

Price

The price of this tanner is $4.90 for a 6.76 oz bottle.  That is only $0.72 an ounce!

I guess you get what you pay for in this case.
