Overall Opinion:

I gave St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Lotion 2 out of 5 stars.  So this one fell short in my opinion.

This one smells pretty bad, like cheap cleaning products.  And the smell doesn’t go away until you shower it off.

It also produces a tan that’s very sub par.  My tan was scaly, and orange.  I’m pretty sure this product dried my skin out completely due to the harsh ingredients.

My tan was a medium shade, and I would’ve liked it to be darker and more natural looking.

It dried in 15 minutes, which wasn’t bad, and the product is very cheap…but unfortunately, there are better self tanners out there.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

This is a thick, gel like lotion, with a dark brown guide.

The guide is one of the darkest I’ve seen and almost looks black.

When you open the product up you’ll see that the product that has dried around the lid turned green….that freaked me out a bit.

Application

Application was pretty messy.

The lotion is thick, but it somehow winds up getting all over the place.

There were little drops of it on my floor, towels, etc.

And the guide stains…beware!

St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Lotion soaks into your skin nicely, but you have to rub the guide around a little until it blends in or else it looks super streaky.

This is definitely one of those dark guides that are hard to deal with.

Drying Time

This lotion took around 15-20 minutes to dry, and you have to be very careful while your waiting for it to dry or else the guide will stain anything you touch.

I had to just stand naked in my bathroom for about 20 minutes before putting my clothes on because I didn’t want to ruin them!

Smell (Before Application)

Yuck, this one smells like cheap soap or cleaner!

I really didn’t like the smell of this one, the best way I can describe it is cheap smelling.

I could smell a hint of DHA, but mostly just the strong cleaning smell.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

The gross cleaner smell stuck with my until the next day, I couldn’t stand it.

I smelled so bad, and couldn’t wait to wash the product off!  The good news is the DHA smell didn’t get much stronger as the color developed.

Color Produced

After I showered the next morning and looked at my tan, I was disappointed.

St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Lotion produces a tan that looks speckled and scaly and orange.

It wasn’t natural looking, and I think something in their formula really dried my skin out.

If you look at their ingredients, I can’t pronounce any of them which is a red flag to me as well.  It appears it’s just loaded with tons of chemicals.

My tan was a medium shade and had a very orange tint to it.

I wish my tan was darker and more natural looking.

How Long It Lasts

As the days went on my tan became more and more scaly, and by day 3 it was almost gone.

This is one I’m glad faded after only 3 days.

OK For Men?

No.  It’s cheap, but there are better products out there for your money.

Price

St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Lotion is only $1.25 per ounce, but it’s still not worth it in my opinion.
