Overall Opinion:

This is another express mousse that I unfortunately won’t be using again.  After testing it out, I found I really don’t care for it, mainly because the color payoff just isn’t there.

As with most 1-hour mousses, you leave this one on for anywhere from 1-3 hours depending on how dark you’d like to be.  Due to a time crunch, I left it on for 1.5 hours before showering it off.  The next morning I expected to have a light to medium shade tan (about 1-2 shades darker).  But I barely had any tan at all! The little color I had was more like a light glow than a tan.  I was really disappointed with how light my tan was; I wish it had been a little darker. I wasn’t expecting a dark tan, but a noticeable light tan would’ve been nice.

The smell is great.  I wish the results were better because I love the smell of this one, I can’t get enough!

Application is fine, but I found the color of the guide to be really odd.  It’s kind of a greyish, green color.

This mousse is also very expensive to get here in the USA.  I had to pay $20 for shipping on top of the price of the product.

So overall, I wasn’t too impressed by Skinny Tan Express Mousse.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

Skinny Tan Express Mousse has an airy, frothy texture and has a greenish color.  The guide is kind of a grey/mint green color.  The color is very odd compared to a lot of mousses I’ve used.

Application

I used a tanning mitt when applying this mousse, and I suggest you do the same.  The guide is pretty dark and can stain your hands as you apply, so it’s best to protect them.

The green guide helps you see where you’re applying the mousse, and the texture holds up pretty well during application.

It blended nicely, and soaked into my skin easily. I could definitely see where I was applying the mousse because of the color guide.

Drying Time

As with most mousses, this one stayed sticky on my skin for a while. It dried in about 15 minutes, but stayed tacky for about 45 minutes while I waited for it to dry.

Because it was so tacky feeling, it easily rubs off on clothes and towels, so be careful.

Smell (Before Application)

I really love the smell of Skinny Tan Express Mousse. It smells fruity, like coconuts.  You know I can’t resist a tropical smelling self tanner!

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

The whole time I had this self tanner on, it smelled really good.  I only had it on for 1.5 hours though.  You can keep it on for up to 3 hours, or overnight if you’d like to.  It may not smell as good if you leave it on overnight, however.

Color Produced

I left Skinny Tan Express Mousse on for 1.5 hours.  This should’ve given me a light to medium tan based on it being an express mousse.

Unfortunately, the next day I only had an extremely light tan; I’d call it more of an all over glow.  It was far too light for my liking. I wouldn’t even say it was an actual tan; it just gave a little glow.

Now, the directions say you can leave this one on overnight for the “darkest tan possible”, but that would defeat the purpose of this being a 1 hour tan.  I’d rather just use a regular mousse that I know works instead of leaving this one on overnight.

How Long It Lasts

After 1-2 days, my tan was almost completely gone.  My tan was just so light that it didn’t last long at all, which was disappointing.  It didn’t fade unnaturally; it kind of just disappeared one day.

OK For Men?

No.  I don’t think the color is up to par, and it’s pretty sticky.

Price

This self tanner isn’t available in the US, so it’s quite expensive to get it here.  I paid over $13.00 per ounce, which makes this self tanner very pricey.  In my opinion, it’s just not worth the money.
