Overall Opinion:
I’ve gotten quite a few requests to review this self tanner as it’s supposedly the self tanner that Victoria Secret angels use. After some research, I found that the spray tan girl that sprays the angels developed this product. But I couldn’t really find whether the angels are using this mousse, and the spray tan formula; I’m guessing it’s the spray tan formula. So I still don’t think they’re using this mousse.
Anyways, after trying this mousse, I’m pleasantly surprised so I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
I absolutely love the color Pradas Glow Sunless Tanning Mousse gives. There’s only one shade in this mousse, and let me tell ya, it’s DARK. So if you want a light or medium, natural looking tan, this isn’t the product for you.
After one application, I had a nice, dark tan. It was very deep, but not orange at all. On my skin, tone was brown and really bronze. I loved it!
It also smells really good and fruity/sweet. But the smell is really strong, so if you’re sensitive to fragrance, you probably won’t like it.
One thing I really don’t like (and why I knocked them down in stars) is their customer service. I tried emailing them numerous times about my order and never heard back. That’s really disappointing to me. Also, they don’t send out confirmation emails when you order, which I don’t like either. I actually forgot I ordered and ordered it again since I never got a confirmation email.
This product is also VERY expensive. The product itself is $25 and then they charge $10 for shipping on top of that! Not to mention, the bottle is only 3 ounces, and will probably only last you 2-3 applications.
But overall, I really like the color this one produces, so I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
Pradas Glow Mousse is a foamy mousse that is dark brown in color. The guide is pretty dark, so you can really see where you’re applying it. I liked the texture; it was nice, not too thick and not too thin.
Application
It’s pretty easy to apply as long as you use a mitt. The color of the mousse is extremely dark brown, so you’ll really want to protect your hands as you apply it.
The brown color helps me see where I’m applying it, so I don’t miss any spots. It looks a little streaky once it’s on, but that’s just from the color guide.
It’s not too messy, as long as you apply carefully. It basically goes on like your average tanning mousse.
It can stain your towels and clothes if you’re not careful, however.
Drying Time
Most mousses take a while to dry, that’s just something I’ve come to accept.
I was pleasantly surprised this one dries a bit quicker than most mousses. It dried in about 20 minutes. Another thing I like is that it doesn’t feel sticky as it dries.
Smell (Before Application)
Pradas Glow Sunless Tanning Mousse has a really interesting smell. It’s very sweet and girly smelling.
Personally, I love the scent of this one. It smells more like a perfume or body lotion than a self tanner!
The smell is pretty strong though, so for those of you who are sensitive to scents, it may be too much.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
By the next morning, I could still smell a little of the perfume-like smell. But I also smelled DHA pretty strongly, so it wasn’t AS pleasant smelling as the night before.
But I’ve definitely smelled worse.
Color Produced
The guide had become SO dark on my skin after it developed. But after I showered, some of that color went away.
I was really happy with my tan that was left; it was a deep bronze color. I really loved the color; it’s exactly what I hope to get from a self tanner. It looked like I had just returned from a week in Hawaii J The color was very dark, so if you’re looking for a light or medium tan, this is not the one for you.
The color was natural looking and didn’t look orange or fake at all.
One thing I don’t like about this one though is that despite moisturizing beforehand, the tanner really stuck to my dry areas (elbows, knees, feet, hands, etc). My hands looked SO jacked up, they were streaking and way darker than my body.
But overall, I’m very happy with my tan and the way it looks.
How Long It Lasts
My tan lasted 5 days (which isn’t too bad).
One thing I don’t like about this tan is how it fades, it becomes SO splotchy, especially my fingers and legs as it faded.
OK For Men?
Yes, this is a great option if you want a dark tan.
Price
Pradas Glow Sunless Tanning Mousse is SO expensive. The bottle is only 3.4 ounces and sells for 25 bucks. That’s how much most mousses are but for double the size!
They also charge you $10 for shipping which is outrageous.
