Overall Opinion:

It’s not very often we give a self tanner a ranking of  4 or higher.  That means we really love a product, which we did after using Playboy Glitz Self Tanner.

The biggest (and maybe the only) drawback to this product was the messy application.  This lotion has a very dark guide in it, therefore you have to be extremely careful when applying it.

If you get it anywhere other than your body it can stain your clothes, sheets, towels, etc.

But other than that, the color was dark and fantastic.  It was very natural, and I loved the bronze shade tan it produced.

The smell is very strong and fruity and girly.  It smelled like a Go-Gurt, which I think is a good thing.   But others might think differently.

The Playboy Glitz Self Tanner also lasted longer than  most self tanners.  In fact, this one lasted about 6-7 days until it needed a re-application.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

This lotion comes out with a very dark guide and feels very smooth (almost gel like).

It looks like it would be a thick lotion, but it’s actually pretty thin.  And feels like a very smooth, gel-like lotion.

Application

This product has a very dark guide, so I would definitely recommend wearing gloves when applying it.

If you aren’t careful this product can get on your sheets, towels and clothes due to the guide.

So make sure to wait until the product is completely dry before touching any furniture, clothing, etc.

It goes on like any body lotion would and blends into your skin very nicely.

I actually loved the way my legs looked after blending the lotion into them :)

Drying Time

Playboy Glitz Self Tanner took about 35-40 minutes to dry completely.

So it was a little longer than average, but at least it didn’t take a full hour to dry like some products do.

Be very careful what you touch while you are waiting for the lotion to dry.  Like I said, there is a very dark guide and it can stain anything you touch before it is dry.

Smell (Before Application)

My first thought when I smelled this Playboy tanner is that it smells exactly like a Go-Gurt!!

I absolutely love the smell, but it may be a little too sweet and “yogurt-y” for some people.

My boyfriend didn’t like the smell, so it just depends on if you are a fan of very sweet smelling products.

The smell of this lotion is also very strong, it’ll stick with you for a few hours after application.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

The next day I didn’t smell any DHA (thank goodness).

I did smell a little bit of the sweetness from the product, but that completely went away after I showered the product off.

Color Produced

After I washed the Playboy Glitz self Tanner off my body, I was left with a nice dark tan.

I really liked the dark shade bronze color it produced.

The color was a natural brown, and I’d say it was one of the darker ones I have tried.

You will see the dark guide wash off in the shower, and you will be left with a glowing, sunkissed tan.

How Long It Lasts

This product lasted longer than most as well.

It lasted almost a full week, which was a pleasant surprise.

Most products fade after 3-5 days and then you have to reapply them.

I’d say this one you will need to reapply after 6-7 days to maintain a nice color.

OK For Men?

I don’t think this is the right product for men.

First of all, the smell is VERY girly, I think most men will be embarrassed to smell like strawberry yogurt.

Second, the guide is very dark, and in my experience I have found that men aren’t really a fan of dark brown guides.

So it will probably be a little too messy for guys.

But you can find this product for around $9.00 on Amazon, which works out to only $.90 an ounce!
