Overall, this is one of the better gradual tanners I’ve tried.

I gave it 3.25 out of 5 stars.

After one application I had a natural, medium shade tan.  I applied the tanner a few more nights, but I didn’t really get much darker.

I also liked the way this one made my skin feel.  It has cocoa butter in it so my skin felt super soft after I applied it.

The smell was ok, it smelled very strongly of cocoa butter, but that smell isn’t my favorite.

Application was very simple and not messy, which is always a plus.

Drying time could’ve been faster, it took about 30-35 minutes overall to dry.

But at $.98 an ounce, it’s one of the cheapest self tanners out there!

Look and Feel

Palmers Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze Body Lotion comes out as a cream, white lotion.

The lotion is very silky feeling and there’s no guide in it.

Application

Applying this self tanner was super easy.

I didn’t wear gloves, and my hands were fine….just make sure to thoroughly wash them after you apply.

The lotion is very silky and smooth so it glides onto your skin, it takes a few seconds to blend in.

There’s no guide in the is one, it’s completely white.

It goes on just like a body moisturizer would (this actually is a moisturizer as well as a self tanner).

Drying Time

I found this lotion took a little longer than average to dry.

It took about 30-35 minutes before it didn’t feel sticky anymore and I could crawl into bed.

I wish it dried a little faster.

Smell (Before Application)

Palmers Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze Body Lotion smells decent.

It smells a lot like cocoa butter, I’m just not a huge fan of that smell.

I know a lot of people love the smell of cocoa butter, and if you’re one of them you’re going to love the smell.

The good news is I couldn’t really smell DHA.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

I could still smell the cocoa smell when I woke up, it just wasn’t as strong.

I still didn’t smell any DHA though.

Color Produced

This one gave a pretty nice tan, especially for a gradual self tanner.

After one night of applying it, I woke up with a nice, medium tan.

However, after a few more nights of applying it, it didn’t get too much darker.

But if you’re looking for a gradual self tanner that produces a medium shade tan, this one is very nice.

The color was even and not orange.

You guys know gradual tanners aren’t my favorite, but this one I actually liked.

My skin also felt very soft after applying it, I think because of the moisturizing cocoa butter.

How Long It Lasts

Palmers Cocoa Butter Natural Bronze Body Lotion lasted about 4 days before it faded.

I was happy with this, because most gradual tanners drastically fade after 1 or 2 days.

As it faded it became a little splotchy, but nothing too crazy.

OK For Men?

Men, if you’re looking for a gradual tanner I’d say give this one a try!

It smells ok, and it’ll give you a natural medium tan.

You probably won’t need to apply it more than 1 or 2 days in a row either.

For the price, it’s a great value.
