Overall Opinion:
I was really excited when Million Dollar Tan launched their Summer Sun Mousse.
But after trying it, I have to admit I’m a little let down… so I gave it 2.25 out of 5 stars.
It wasn’t the worst tanner out there, but I definitely had higher hopes for it.
It smells better than most Million Dollar Tan products; I actually really enjoyed the fruity scent.
This product was easy to apply, but drying time was horrible… I felt sticky all night!
It produced a dark color, but it was fake looking and orange. This mousse may work for some of you with darker skin tones, but for those of us pale people out there it’s not a good fit.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
This mousse is very fluffy and comes out with a caramel colored guide.
The guide isn’t dark at all, it’s more of a light tan color that darkens a little once applied to your body.
Application
I applied this one with a tanning mitt and it was very easy.
Generally speaking, mousses are a little messier to apply than lotions. But this one wasn’t bad compared to most mousses out there. It holds its texture nicely, so you don’t need to worry about it melting or dripping.
Drying Time
After applying, this mousse took foreverrr to dry.
It was sticky for over an hour, and the stickiness never fully went away. I felt super uncomfortable and had to resist the urge to shower it off that night.
Whenever I would wake during the night, I could still feel the stickiness of the tanner all over my body.
Smell (Before Application)
This one smells better than most Million Dollar Tan products, I was surprised.
It smells light, fruity, and well… summery. I enjoyed the scent.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
The fragrance in this one did a really good job covering up the DHA smell.
I could only smell a tiny smidgeon of it the next morning.
Color Produced
This is where I had mixed feelings about the product.
The color was nice and dark, however it left my pretty orange.
It was actually about as dark as their Cabana Tan Extreme product, but the color is just way too unnatural looking.
The color resembled that old school self tanner look.
How Long It Lasts
My tan lasted 5 days, which is longer than average.
OK For Men?
No, I think it’s too orangey. It may work for some skin tones though.
Price
Million Dollar Tan Summer Sun is $7.00 per ounce, which is pretty expensive.
