Overall Opinion:
Loreal Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Serum earned 3 out of 5 starts from us.
I really enjoyed the tan I got from this one, although it was a tiny bit orange (it didn’t really bother me).
Application is easy, but this product does have a shimmer to it, so be careful.
It smells really bad, but the price is good and you can find this product everywhere.
So overall, this was a slightly better than average self tanner.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
This product is a serum that comes out an off-white, yellowy color. The consistency reminds me a lot of honey, without the stickiness.
The serum is nice, it isn’t too thick, and not too thin either. I’d say it’s a bit on the thinner side.
There’s no guide when you apply it.
Application
You could probably apply this one with your bare hands if you wanted to, but I found applying it with a mitt was very easy.
The product doesn’t have a visible guide that you can see on your skin, so you just apply it like your everyday body lotions.
One big downside to this product is the shimmer/glitter that’s in it. I really am not a fan of the self tanners that include shimmer in them. If I want to be shimmery, I’ll apply a bronzer after.
So, this product won’t really stain anything, but it will get shimmer all over.
Another downside is how much product you use. The bottle is very small to start off with, and I found I had to use a lot of product to cover my body. So I think you’d only get about 3 full body applications out of this bottle.
Drying Time
After applying Loreal Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Serum, my skin felt so wet! It literally felt drenched.
That feeling lasted about 5-10 minutes, and then the product slowly started to dry. I felt pretty sticky until about 35 minutes after application.
After that, my skin felt pretty smooth.
Smell (Before Application)
This self tanner smells horrible. If you’ve tried other Loreal Sublime self tanners, this one smells exactly the same.
It smells very strongly of DHA. I really didn’t like the smell.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
The smell lasted all night long. I could even smell it during the middle of the night (not pleasant).
I couldn’t wait to wash it off the next morning!
Color Produced
The next day, I was quite impressed with my tan.
The instructions say to apply 3 days in a row, but I didn’t even feel the need to.
After one application, my tan was bronzed and dark. I loved the way it looked.
After I showered, all the glitter washed off (thankfully).
It had a very slight orange hue to it, but I wouldn’t let that keep you from trying it.
How Long It Lasts
The bottle says your tan will last up to two weeks…..uhhh no.
My tan lasted about 5 days, which is still pretty good, but it definitely wasn’t 2 weeks!
I did notice some patchiness going on as it faded, but it wasn’t TOO bad.
OK For Men?
Yes. It’s easy to use and it affordable. But it does come out shimmery (don’t worry, it will wash off the next day).
Price
Loreal Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Serum is $10.99 per bottle, which is cheap, but one bottle won’t last you very long.
