Overall Opinion:
As far as Jergens self tanners go, this is one of their better ones.
It still has some issues, but compared to Jergens other self tanners, I like this one.
This is a foam that’s a gradual self tanner. They have 2 shades, one for Light to Medium skin, and the other for Medium to Tan skin tones. I tried the one for Medium to Tan skin tones because I like to be fairly dark.
After only one application, I had a light to medium shade tan. I think my tan looked overall pretty good, but to my eye, it was a tad bit orange. I don’t know that anyone else would notice that, but I’ve tried hundreds of self tanners so I can tell.
Now, if I were to apply it more than one day in a row, my tan would definitely become more fake and orange looking, as well as darker. So I was pretty happy with the one application.
The bad things about this self tanner are the smell, and it really dried my skin out.
But overall, I think it’s better than your average self tanner and I ranked it 3.25 out of 5 stars.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
This foam is white in color and very fluffy. It looks like shaving cream as it comes out of the bottle, but the texture is a little lighter than shaving cream.
Application
Since Jergens Foaming Daily Moisturizer is white in color, it’s actually very easy to apply.
I still ended up using a tanning mitt to apply it, because I didn’t want to risk turning my palms orange.
There’s no guide in this one, so you’ll need to be extra careful when applying it. It’s easy to miss spots with this one.
The product glided over my skin, making it easy to rub in.
Drying Time
This foam doesn’t take too long to dry, about 20 minutes.
That’s a pretty average drying time as far as mousses go.
As soon as it dried, my skin felt really soft, which was nice.
Another nice thing is I didn’t need to worry about a brown guide while I waited for the product to dry.
Smell (Before Application)
I don’t care for the smell of this product.
Now, I wouldn’t say it smells bad, but I don’t think it smells particularly good either.
It has a perfume/girly scent, but I could smell a lot of DHA in there as well.
So it winds up smelling like DHA scented perfume.
I wish I could only smell the perfume scent because it smells pretty fresh. Although the perfume scent was pretty strong and a bit heavy.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
By the next morning, the DHA smell had become more apparent. So much so that I couldn’t wait to get it off my skin.
I hate waking up to the smell of DHA.
Color Produced
I tried Jergens Natural Glow Foaming Daily Moisturizer in the “Medium to Tan” shade.
One weird thing is this product doesn’t say how long to leave it on. So I left it on overnight, about 8 hours.
After one application, I had a light to medium tan. I was surprised by how much color I had, after just one application.
Since this is a gradual self tanner, I expected to need to apply it a few days in a row before I saw any color development at all. Now, I don’t know if the same would be true for the “Light to Medium” shade.
So I was really happy with the color payoff of this one, and I was pretty happy with my tan overall. But it was a little bit on the orange or “fake” looking side.
So overall my tan looked really good, it’s just not the most natural looking self tanner. But I’d rather be a bit orange than white!
If you apply it more than one day in a row, you can definitely deepen your tan, but you also risk it becoming more orange. The more often you apply it, the more orange and dark your tan will become.
How Long It Lasts
I found my tan lasted about 3-4 days after applying this one, which I was happy with.
Usually gradual tanners only last 2-3 days, so 3-4 is pretty good!
I noticed as it faded it dried my skin out. So this one isn’t very hydrating. I also had a few dry patches where the tan faded weird.
OK For Men?
Yes, I think men may like this one if they’re looking for a gradual tanner.
Price
Jergens Natural Glow Foaming Daily Moisturizer is $10.99 per bottle, which is very cheap compared to most self tanners.
