Overall Opinion:
Overall, I really wasn’t a fan of Jean Pierre Self Tan Wipes.
The application was easy and the drying time was virtually nonexistent, but that’s not enough to make up for the things I didn’t like about these.
The color was so light, I didn’t look any tanner.
You’ll need to use about 5-6 wipes to cover your entire body, so the box of 10 will only last you 2 applications.
These towelettes are pretty dry compared to most. It doesn’t feel like they have a lot of product on them at all. They’re also very thin.
They reeked of DHA, they have a very strong, pungent smell.
So overall, I wasn’t happy with Jean Pierre Self Tan Wipes.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
Jean Pierre Self Tan Wipes are white, pre moistened towelettes.
These are very thin, and not very wet.
They resemble wet wipes, and they have no color guide.
Application
The easy application is probably the only thing I really liked about these.
These wipes are super easy to apply, and don’t leave any mess.
I didn’t wear gloves when applying these and my hands were fine.
The only bad thing is the wipes aren’t very wet, so you’ll probably need 5-6 to cover your whole body.
Drying Time
There’s virtually no drying time with these, which was nice.
As soon as you apply them the product is dry. I think it’s because there is so little product on the wipes.
Like I mentioned earlier in the review, the wipes aren’t very wet…they’re on the dry side.
Smell (Before Application)
These smell like straight DHA.
The smell was awful, and very strong.
I couldn’t smell any scent or perfume, just straight DHA, yuck!
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
When I woke up the next morning, the DHA smell was completely gone, thank goodness!
I couldn’t smell anything.
Color Produced
I have yet to find a towelette that produces a nice tan.
This one didn’t really give me any color at all, maybe one shade (and that’s being generous).
The tan it produces was so light, it’s almost pointless to apply them.
I think it also was light because there wasn’t enough product on each wipe.
I wasn’t happy with the color these produced at all.
How Long It Lasts
I’d say the tan maybe lasted one day.
It’s just hard to tell because my tan was SO light.
You’ll have to apply these very frequently to see any color.
As the color faded I didn’t notice any streaking or splotchiness because my tan was so light.
OK For Men?
No, I’d say save your money.
These smell bad and don’t produce a nice shade of tan.
Price
The package of 10 was $8.99. That works out to $.89 per wipe which is super cheap.
You’ll need to use at least 5-6 wipes per application, so the box will only last you 2 applications.
