Overall Opinion:
Overall, I gave Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream, 3.5 out of 5 stars so it was better than your average self tanner.
I really liked the color this cream produced. It was very natural and smooth, and gave me a deep medium tan. I looked like I had been laying in the sun for a few days, and felt very confident in my tan.
I didn’t like how long it took to dry, I felt like I was sticky all night long (so I’m not sure it ever fully dried). That is one of my pet peeves when it comes to tanning products.
I also wasn’t a huge fan of the smell, but at least it faded away quickly.
Application was easy, and I loved how nicely the product left my skin feeling.
The price is on the high end, but you’re paying for a golden glow that rivals the most natural looking tan.
Overall, it was a decent product.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream is a light brown, orangey product that is so smooth it almost feels like a gel.
It says it’s a cream, but I swear it feels more like a gel. However, it does feel like a cream in how emollient and moisturizing it is.
The guide makes it look like caramel, and it has a very light shimmery look to it.
Application
This cream is pretty thick so you don’t need to worry about it dripping all over the place and causing a mess in your bathroom.
There is a guide in this one, but I didn’t feel like I needed to use a glove because the product washed off my hands very easily. But if you’d like to play it safe, you can use a mitt when applying.
The product blends in very nicely to your skin, and I loved the way it felt going on. It’s very velvety and luxurious.
Once I had applied it, my body has a slight sheen to it, and looked like it was glowing.
The product comes with a little spoon to scoop the product out of the jar, which is nice. But I’m not a huge fan of the jar packaging, it just seems unsanitary to me.
Drying Time
Unfortunately, I felt like this one never dried.
I actually woke up a few times in the middle of the night because I could feel my arms and legs sticking to each other.
I HATE that sticky, wet feeling.
This was really disappointing, because it was really uncomfortable waiting for it to dry.
Smell (Before Application)
Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream smells very strongly of DHA.
There is a hint of floral/fragrance in there as well, but the DHA scent overpowered it.
I personally didn’t like the smell of this one.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
The smell faded away really quickly.
Within a few hours I couldn’t smell any more of the DHA. I’m glad it faded away so quickly because the DHA smell was pretty strong.
Color Produced
After I washed off the caramel colored guide I was left with a very nice tan.
My tan was a deep medium shade and it was streak free and natural looking.
The tan was a brown shade, not orange at all and I loved how it looked.
I was surprised how smooth and even it was, and I could tell that the product has moisturized my entire body.
My skin felt so soft, and looked sun kissed.
How Long It Lasts
I wish this one would’ve lasted longer because I was really happy with the color it produced.
It lasted about 3 days before I felt like I needed to reapply it. So you’ll probably have to apply this one twice a week to keep your tan looking nice.
My tan got a little bit patchy as it faded, but it wasn’t anything too bad.
OK For Men?
Yes, I think men will like this one.
It looks a bit shimmery when you apply it, but after you shower that shimmery look is gone and you’re left with a great looking tan.
Other than that, it’s easy to apply and produces a nice color….it just takes forever to dry!
Price
At $10.00 per ounce, Clarins Delicious Self Tanning Cream is definitely on the pricier side.
It’s an expensive self tanner, but at least it produces a really nice color.
