Overall Opinion:
Overall, I gave Bronze Doll Self Tanning Spray 3.25 out of 5 stars. So I liked this spray a lot, and would have even ranked it higher if it weren’t for the awful application process.
The application process is so messy, and the product literally was running down my entire body as I applied it. Thankfully a tanning mitt saved the day and I was able to salvage my tan by blending it in all over.
I was very happy with the dark, bronze tan I got from this product. My tan was even and brown. Although, I don’t think it would’ve turned out even without the help of a mitt.
It smells rich and tropical; I enjoyed the scent.
The drying time was good, and the price was decent as well.
So this tanning spray is better than average and I gave it 3.25 out of 5 stars after trying it.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
This self tanner is a continuous mist that comes out with a brown guide.
The guide is very dark and helps you see where you’re spraying the product.
The product itself is a fine liquid, but the mist comes out pretty heavy.
Application
Applying Bronze Doll Self Tanning Spray is very messy.
The application process is the one thing I really didn’t like about this product.
Online it says it comes with a tanning mitt, but I never received one. That could be because I ordered it off of Amazon. But regardless, I felt a little gypped! And the mitt would’ve come in handy during application.
So the directions say to hold the bottle a few inches away from your body and spray the product on.
I did this in my shower, and I’m so happy that I did because SO much product falls to the ground. Not to mention, the product that made it on my body started running down my abdomen and legs, ultimately pooling up on the ground.
So after I sprayed my whole body, I had to go back with a mitt and blend it on all over. It’s probably be best to just spray the product onto a tanning mitt and then rub it in. That would definitely be less messy.
Drying Time
After blending the tanner in with a mitt, it took about 15 minutes to dry. After that I put my dark colored clothing on and crawled into bed.
It did get on my sheets a little, but it came out when I washed them.
Smell (Before Application)
I think Bronze Doll Self Tanning Spray smells good.
It’s a light coconut smell (almost a bit buttery), that I really enjoyed. It has a pretty rich smell.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
I never smelled DHA while waiting for this one to develop.
Color Produced
I woke up in the morning looking dark and bronzed, although I knew a lot of that was from the guide.
After I showered, I was pleasantly surprised that I was still pretty dark and bronze. Although, the guide did wash off, the tan I was left with was very nice looking.
I was happy with how dark it was, it was darker than your average self tanner.
The color was brown, and I didn’t see any orange-ness at all.
For those of you with very light skin tones, this one may be a little too dark for you, which could lead to streaks or an uneven look.
But overall, I was very happy with how my tan looked.
How Long It Lasts
My tan started to fade after about 3 days. I had some color until day 5, but it was minimal, and fading quickly.
I’d say you probably need to apply this one 2 times per week.
OK For Men?
Yes, the color is nice, and it smells good.
But application is messy and time consuming.
Price
Bronze Doll Self Tanning Spray is only $14.95 per bottle, that’ pretty cheap.
