Overall Opinion:
I’ve tried quite a few Bondi Sands products thus far, and haven’t been super impressed with some of them. But I happen to really like this one!
It’s very easy to use, smells great, is cost effective, and gives a great tan! The one thing I don’t like is how it fades. It made my skin look really old, dry, and wrinkly as it faded. It was pretty embarrassing.
But overall, I like this self tanning foam, so I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
Bondi Sands Aero Tanning Foam is an aerosol mousse that has the texture of shaving cream, so it doesn’t look like your average tanning mousse. It’s very fluffy and light feeling.
The foam has a brown color to it, but it’s not super dark, just a normal brown color.
Application
This foam is very easy to apply if you use a tanning mitt. I used a mitt to apply and didn’t have any issues. The brown color guide makes it easy to see where you’re applying, and the texture held nicely during application. The product just glided over my skin, and blended in very easily.
The guide looks a little streaky when you apply it to your skin, but that doesn’t reflect how your tan will turn out. The guide easily washes off in the shower.
Drying Time
I’m really happy with how quickly this self tanner dried. It dried in less than 20 minutes. It didn’t feel wet or sticky as it dried, either. That’s always a plus in my book!
Smell (Before Application)
Bondi Sands Aero Tanning Foam smells really good, like most Bondi Sands products. That’s one thing I like about Bondi Sands, most of their products smell tropical and delicious!
This one is no exception and smells like sweet coconuts, I love it!
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
The next morning I could still smell some coconut scent, but it was mixed with your typical self tanner smell. It wasn’t too bad though, and it didn’t bother me very much.
Color Produced
The directions on this self tanner say to leave it on for at least 6 hours before showering it off. I left it on overnight while I slept, so about 8-9 hours.
When I washed it off, I could clearly see the guide washing off of my skin. I was worried that all the color I saw was going to be from the guide, but thankfully that wasn’t the case.
I was left with a medium to dark shade tan that looked great! My tan was smooth, and I looked very sun kissed. I was actually very surprised with the results, as I haven’t been super impressed with Bondi Sands products in the past. But this is my favorite one I’ve tried of theirs to date.
I loved how my tan looked and made me feel like it was summer. I had no streaks and it overall looked very natural. I think this Aero Foam produces a tan that most people will love. It’s a medium to dark shade, but I think it will work for most skin tones.
How Long It Lasts
My tan lasted around 5 days, which is good, but unfortunately, I really don’t like how this one fades. My skin became wrinkly looking because this one really sticks to the folds in my skin. My skin also looked very dry as my tan faded. But the thing that bugged me most is how old and wrinkly it made my skin look as it faded.
OK For Men?
I think it’s a good option for men.
Price
A bottle of this self tanner costs $29. That’s a fine price point for what you get size-wise. It’s a bit less than your average self tanner.
