Top 10 Ingredients: Water (aqua, eau), aloe barbadensis (aloe vera) leaf juice, butyrospermum parkii (shea butter), C12-15 alkyl benzoate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, dihydroxyacetone, glyceryl stearate, hydroxyethyl acrylate/sodium acryloyl dimethyl taurate copolymer, propanediol, glycerin
Overall Opinion:
Whish recently revamped their self tanning formula, and I have to say they did a great job.
The first one included sunscreen and produced almost no color at all. Whereas this one does not have sunscreen and produces a natural looking medium shade tan.
It smells delicious, and it is also very easy to apply.
It’s a great self tanner in our book, so we gave it 4.3 out of 5 stars.
Detailed Review:
Look and Feel
Whish Self Tanner comes out of the tube as a very thick, white lotion. It’s very rich and emollient in texture.
Application
Applying this product is very easy. Despite the fact that’s it’s a pretty heavy lotion, it blends in easily.
It doesn’t have any guide or tint to it, so there’s really not any mess whatsoever.
Drying Time
Whish Self Tanner dries pretty fast considering how thick and luxurious the product feels.
We didn’t notice any of it coming off on our sheets.
Smell (Before Application)
This self tanning product smells really good. It has a delightful coconut odor that’s hard to beat. It’s very sweet and tropical smelling, I could live in this smell.
There’s no hint of self tanner smell with this one, which is a huge plus!
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
The next morning I could still smell sweet coconuts and no DHA…woohoo!
Color Produced
We still aren’t completely sure if this is a gradual self tanner or not, but after one application I had a beautiful tan.
My tan was a nice medium shade that gave me a sunkissed appearance.
If it is a gradual self tanner, you can apply it daily to deepen your results (although I was pleased with my tan after only one application).
We have to hand it to Whish, we tried their original self tanning formula, and it sucked (pardon our French). But this new and improved formula nixed the sunscreen and we are so impressed by it.
How Long It Lasts
This is the one down side of this self tanner, I wish it lasted longer on my skin.
It faded after only 2 days, and by day 3 I could hardly notice any tan left at all. So you’ll need to apply this one probably at least 2-3 times per week.
OK For Men?
Yes, I think this is a great one for men.
Price
Whish Self Tanner costs $30 for a 5 ounce bottle. That works out to $6.00 per ounce, which is on the more expensive side as far as self tanners go.
