Overall Opinion:

So you guys all know I’m not a huge fan of gradual self tanners.

But Suave Visible Glow Self Tanning Body Lotion is a pretty good one if you’re willing to spend a lot of time working on your self tan.

I obviously didn’t like how you have to apply it everyday for 3-7 days to achieve a nice color (and then keep allying it to maintain that color).  To me that’s more work than it’s worth.

But I will admit, after 4 days of consistently applying this lotion, I had a decent tan.

The smell is nice too; it smells like flowers.

So, if you’re one of those people out there who are willing to “work hard” for their tan, you’ll like this product.  Plus you can’t beat the cheap price tag of $6.99!

The only downsides were it took a while to dry and the next day I smelled a bit like DHA.

Look and Feel

Suave Visible Glow Self Tanning Body Lotion is a very lightweight lotion.

It’s white in color, so there’s no guide in it.

It feels almost exactly like a Suave Body Lotion (if you’ve ever tried one of those!).

Application

Application is very easy and hassle free.

The white guide doesn’t cause any mess, and the product goes on just like your daily moisturizer would.

I didn’t even use gloves, because its a gradual self tanner and those aren’t usually very strong.

Drying Time

This one took longer than I’d like to dry.

It took about 30 minutes, and while it was drying I kind of felt like I was sweating, it wasn’t a pleasant feeling.

At least I didn’t have to worry about getting any tanner on the couch or my clothes while it dried.

Smell (Before Application)

Suave Visible Glow Self Tanning Body Lotion smells pretty good at first.

To me, it smelled a lot like other Suave products I’ve tried.  I’ve tried their shampoos, lotions, etc and a lot go them smell very similar to me.

It smells pretty sweet and maybe a little floral-like.

I could smell the slightest hint of DHA, but it wasn’t too bad.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

The next day I could smell a little DHA.

It wasn’t too bad, but the smell was definitely there.

I’ve noticed that a lot of the cheaper (drugstore) brands smell more like DHA than some of the higher end products.

Once I showered it off, that smell went away.

Color Produced

For a gradual self tanner, this one produces a very nice color!

You guys know that I’m not a huge fan of gradual self tanners because I like to be as dark as possible in as little time as possible.

But I was actually pretty impressed with Suave Visible Glow.

I tried the Medium to Tan shade, so it’s the darker of the two.

I ended up with a nice medium tan after about 3-4 days of applying the lotion.

After the first two days I had a light tan, and after two more days I had a medium shade tan.

The color is pretty natural looking, but its a little splotchy is some areas (like behind my knees).

If you’re looking for a light shade tan, I’d try the lighter shade.

Overall, I like the color it gave me and I think this product would work wonders as a tan extender.

How Long It Lasts

The color lasts about 3 days.

Keep in mind you have to apply the product for 3 days to a week to fully develop the color.

Once it’s fully developed it will last about 3 days and then you have to start reapplying again for 3 days to a week.

If you don’t apply the product daily it will fade very drastically.

I noticed a few small splotchy areas while the product was fading.

OK For Men?

If men are looking for a gradual self tanner, this is a great one for them to try.

The color is a nice, medium shade, and you definitely can’t beat the cheap price!

That works out to $0.93 an ounce, so it’s definitely a budget-friendly self tanner.

Although, you do have to use it almost every day (versus once a week for the higher-end tanners) so the low cost is a bit misleading.
