Top 10 Ingredients:  Aqua/Water/Eau, Cyclopentasiloxane, Isononyl Isononanoate, Alcohol, Glycerin, Dihydroxyacetone, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Butyrospermum Parkii (shea) butter

Overall Opinion:

Sally Hansen Airbrush Sun earned 2.75 out of 5 stars when I tested it out.

This is a gradual tanner, and I’m usually under impressed with the color they produced.  But this one gave me a deep, natural tan after 4 days of use.  The downside is it dried my skin out from all the alcohol in it.

The price is great, if you’re not looking to spend a boatload.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the smell, and the application process was a pain as well.

So overall, this gradual tanner is slightly better than your average self tanner.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

Sally Hansen Airbrush Sun comes out as a slick, gel-like lotion.

It’s dark brown in color, which gives you an instant bronze.

The product looks like melted chocolate coming out of the tube.

Application

I found applying this self tanner to be a pain.

The guide didn’t blend in evenly at all.

As I blended it in, the product left streaks and kind of just sat on top of my skin instead of soaking in.

I had to really blend to get the guide to blend in evenly, and it wasn’t easy.

You must wear a tanning mitt while applying this one, because of the dark guide and the hassle.

Overall, I didn’t find the application process easy.

Drying Time

This lotion took about 25 minutes to dry which is average as far as drying time goes.

I did feel “wet” as I was waiting for the product to dry.

And you can’t really sit down or put your clothes on because the dark guide will stain them.

Smell (Before Application)

This one has a light fresh smell, but you can also smell DHA.

I didn’t love the smell to be honest.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

As the color developed the DHA smell became a little more prevalent.

The DHA smell was never too overwhelming, but I could smell it.

Color Produced

The directions on this product say to use it 4 consecutive days in a row, so I guess this is considered a gradual tanner.

After one night I had a nice medium shade tan.  After 4 days, I had a dark shade tan.

I was actually impressed with how dark this one got me.

The color was smooth and even, and I really liked how my tan looked.

The bad thing is, this product dried my skin out.  I think it’s because it has a lot of alcohol in it.

This product has an instant bronzer in it, so after I applied it I was immediately one shade darker.

After I washed the product off the next day, my tan was a medium shade and the bronzed has washed away.

How Long It Lasts

My tan lasted around 4-5 days, which is pretty good.

The bottle claims it will last a week, but it didn’t in my case.

OK For Men?

I think men will like this one if they’re looking for a gradual tanner that gives nice color.

Price

Sally Hansen Airbrush Sun is $13.99 per bottle which is very affordable.

It’s only $2.37 per ounce.
