Overall Opinion:
ModelCo Super Tan Instant Self-Tan is a slightly better than average self tanning product. On the plus side, it is one of the best smelling tanners out there and dries relatively quickly compared to most.
Some of its negatives are that it’s called a “mousse” but the tanning solution pumps like a bubbly liquid and results in a big mess.
Overall I think this product will work well for many people as long as you can handle the messy application.
Detailed Review:
Look and Feel
ModelCo Super Tan Instant Self-Tan pumps out of the bottle a very dark color. In fact, it appears almost black in color.
It is called a “mousse” which would give you the thought that its consistency would be airy and light, but in reality it was a liquid, not a mousse.
Application
This product is kind of a mess to apply. The pump is designed to produce a mousse but in reality it just dribbles out a liquid. This makes application VERY messy.
The dark tint in it serves as a nice color guide so you know exactly where you’re putting it. You’re color will develop almost instantaneously.
Wearing gloves when applying this dark lotion is a must because it dries so fast.
Drying Time
ModelCo Super Tan Instant Self-Tan dries very quickly taking about 15-20 minutes.
Smell (Before Application)
This product is probably the best scented self tanner we have reviewed thus far.
It smelled tropical and fresh and reminds me of summer. It doesn’t smell like you’ve been out in the sun for 4 hours or just stepped out of a spray tan booth.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
This is the first product that I can say I wish the scent didn’t wash off in the shower. There is no post-application smell after the first wash.
Color Produced
ModelCo Super Tan produced a somewhat nice shade of medium tan (with no real trace of orange).
And we did like the fact that it appeared very even and very smooth after the guide washed off.
I would not recommend going out in public after the initial application because the guide is such a dark color.
After you wash it off there are no signs of streaks or blotchy dark patches.
How Long It Lasts
This ModelCo Self-Tan product lasted about 2-4 days, which is pretty consistent with most self tanners.
OK For Men?
This product could work for some guys out there. But first you need to get a hold of the messy
application and find peace with the fruity smell.
