Overall Opinion:
After putting Miami Gorgeous Self Tanning Mousse to the test, I ranked it 3.5 out of 5 stars.
This mousse is better than your average self tanner, and I liked most things about it.
The thing I like most is the color it produces. I love the natural medium to dark shade. It was smooth and even for the most part, and I couldn’t wait to show off my tan.
Applying it is pretty easy as well, but I don’t like how much product I had to use to cover my whole body.
I didn’t smell any DHA, but the product did have a faint cardboard smell until it dried.
I didn’t like how sticky I felt, and also how long it took to dry. I also felt like I’d use the bottle up extremely fast.
So I ended up giving this self tanner 3.5 out of 5 stars.
Detailed Opinion:
Look and Feel
Miami Gorgeous Self Tanning Mousse is an airy mousse that comes out with a medium brown colored guide.
The guide isn’t as dark as some I’ve seen, but it still works so you can see it as you apply to your skin. The guide is more of a red/orange color than a lot of them I’ve seen. The mousse does a good job holding its texture, so it doesn’t get too runny as you apply it.
Application
I used a mitt to apply this one and I found it to be very easy to apply.
The mousse blended in nicely to my skin, and I didn’t have to use a lot of elbow grease. It kind of just glided over my skin. The guide helped me see where I was applying, which was very helpful.
One thing I didn’t like is how much product I had to use. I felt like I used a ton of product to cover my whole body (and I’m pretty small). So you’ll only get a few applications out of this bottle.
Drying Time
Like most mousses, this one is sticky as you wait for it to dry.
It dried in about 35-40 minutes, but while I waited I was super uncomfortable. Thankfully after it dried it wasn’t too bad, my skin felt pretty smooth.
Smell (Before Application)
Miami Gorgeous Self Tanning Mousse claims to have no self tanning smell, which is true. But the smell it does have smells like cardboard and I wasn’t a fan of it.
The smell is very light, but it still wasn’t too pleasant.
Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)
As the tan developed, thankfully the cardboard smell went away. I also never smelled and DHA (self tanner smell), which is a huge plus.
Color Produced
This is where the product really impressed me. After one application, I had a medium-dark shade tan that looked really nice. I had a tiny streak on my upper thigh, but that could’ve been user error. As long as you take your time applying it, it shouldn’t streak.
I was really happy with how natural my tan looked. I even wore shorts the next day to show it off. For those of you looking for a medium shade tan, I think you’ll be happy with it. It was brown and smooth!
How Long It Lasts
Now, this one didn’t last as long as I hoped it would.
My tan lasted about 3 days, so you’ll need to apply this one at least twice per week (depending on how much you sweat/shower).
And it also didn’t fade well, my legs looked really scaly as it faded.
OK For Men?
Yes, it’s better than your average self tanner.
Price
Miami Gorgeous Self Tanning Mousse is $4.29 per ounce, which is an average price.
