Overall Opinion:

I found Glowpro Sunset Glow to be a little better than your average self tanner, so I gave it 3 out of 5 stars.

After testing it out, I found some things I like about it and some things I don’t.

For the good, it’s pretty easy to apply, produces a dark tan, and has an average price point.

A lot of mousses that have dark color guides can be messy to apply, but I didn’t find that to be the case with this one.  The foam held its shape nicely, which made it easy to apply and blend in.

I liked the deep color of my tan; it was super bronze.  But I had some white spots on my legs that weren’t very appealing.  I have no idea what caused them, but I know it came from the tanner.

I didn’t like the smell of this one at all.  And like I just mentioned, my tan wasn’t the most even.  I also had a few streaks on my upper legs.

So overall, it was pretty good, but not the best self tanner out there.

Detailed Opinion:

Look and Feel

This tanner is a foamy mousse that has a dark guide to it.  The guide is mostly brown, but when it dried (like on the pump and cap), it looked green. But once the guide is on your skin, it actually looks more orange.

The mousse was nice to use; it held its texture and didn’t get all over everything.

Application

The guide made this one easy to see where I was applying it, which made application pretty speedy.  You should use a tanning mitt while applying this one, or else it will be extremely messy and hard to get off your hands.

It glided over my skin easily and absorbed pretty well.  The guide was easy to blend in too, unlike some where the guide just sits on top of your skin.

The only thing to watch out for is the dark guide.  If it gets on your bathroom tile or towels, it could stain.  But I was careful and didn’t have any problems with it.

Drying Time

Once I applied Glowpro Sunset Glow, it took about 35 minutes to dry.

This is a bit longer than I’d like to see, especially considering I had to sit around naked waiting for the dark guide to dry so it didn’t stain anything.

It felt sticky as it dried, but after 35 minutes, that stickiness was pretty much gone.

Smell (Before Application)

This one smells similar to a lot of self tanners out there.  It smells a little sweet and a lot like DHA.

I wouldn’t say it’s the worst smelling self tanner, but I also wouldn’t say it smells pleasant.

I don’t really know how else to explain it other than they tried to cover up the self tanner scent and failed.

Smell (After Several Hours And The Next Day)

By the next morning, I smelled gross.  My skin had that self tanning (DHA) smell that smells like dead skin.

I smelled MUCH better as soon as I showered this product off.

Color Produced

I was really happy with the color of the tan I got, but there were still a few issues with it.

My tan was a deep, dark tan.  It was bronzey, just how I like to look!  My main issue with the tan was I had these white spots all over my upper thighs.  I’ve never experienced it before, so I don’t know what caused it.  They looked very weird, like I had a skin disease of some sort.  I know I didn’t miss any spots, because I was very careful when I applied.

I also had a few streaks around my butt and upper leg area.  So it wasn’t the smoothest looking tan around, but the color was dark and natural looking.

This self tanner has 10% DHA in it, which is a high amount.  So this one may be too dark for some of you with extremely fair skin.  And if you’re new to self tanning, I’d try a lighter one before trying one this dark.  It could appear orange on some very fair skintones.

How Long It Lasts

My tan lasted about 6 days, which is really good.  I was happy with how long it lasted, although it got pretty splotchy as it faded.

OK For Men?

Yes, if you’re looking for a really dark tan, I think this is a decent option.  Although the white spots on my skin were really weird.

Price

Glowpro Sunset Glow is $30 for a 6.76 ounce bottle.  That’s $4.44 per ounce, which is a pretty average price point for a self tanning mousse.
